Ignore him, please. He is clearly trying to wind you up.
The scheme is infallible and fantastic, any evidence to the contrary is quite obviously photoshopped, staged, something, something.
Brilliant.
But again how does any of that get that persons money back?
Have you got a better idea ?
Yeah, don't waste the persons time. You are just adding insult to injury.
Their deposit is gone, tough shít. It's the law.
This has been pointed out to you for months now.
You getting it yet?
it would be a nice turn of events if re-turn responded back to the emails (or whatever written correspondence is being talked about here) and asked for a paypal link to give the money back via paypal, or a choice of choosing amazon vouchers for the deposits instead.
i'm getting tired of holding onto my receipts for bottles that don't work in the machine
They need the bottles back, how else can the bean counting exercise be accurate?
Pity anyone waiting behind you in a queue. I'd say looks would kill if you were standing there feeding in industrial amounts of stuff!
If we hear of a rage murder at one of these machines, we'll know for sure who it was :)
Clearly needs some sort of printed Tshirt or hivis vest...
Warning: professional bottle returner at work
This thread is hilarious, we've had an insinuation that one poster lied about a bin not being available, and another poster is expected to name a rural shop (that could help anyone who might know them in real life identify them) to prove they didn't print a notice about refunds themselves or photoshop it in.
Is it too hard to believe that there are flaws with this system? Like really?
I think we should keep a list:
I propose a nationwide tour of fact-finding and research.
What proof is acceptable? statements, pics, videos, sworn and notarized statements? Endorsement from rapist Donald J Trump?
Of course there's flaws with the system, I've not been shy about that that's one of the things we're here to discuss, is it not?
Good point, when you put it that way there's plenty of unproven allegations being made isn't there?
That's true it is a fair bit of work, a photo editor of some sort would make much more sense in that case to be fair
Flaws with the system which I highlight and you post that are my observations are made up?
What do you suggest?
In this age of technology nearly anything can be photo-shopped
Perhaps you could post a pic of your passport, a bank statement, utility bill or correspondence from revenue, a link to Google maps showing the route from your home to the shop in question and a picture of you and the manager standing beside the notice with you holding up an A4 sheet with your Boards username in size 36 bold font?
No problem all for the sake of 15 or 30 cent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not the law.
The rules based on the actual law are that you get your deposit back if you return the container.
I'm the one advising people to hold Re-turn to account and you are saying they shouldn't bother.
We'll need your PPS number and mother's maiden name too.
Being serious, I totally understand your reluctance to identify the location of the shop and I'm bemused as to why your experience is being questioned.
True enough
So long as Re-Turn fund it, I am in.
Do you not think that the situation that the poster has advised us of is plausable?
Not really, I think it's a bit far-fetched to have such restrictions on a cash exchange for a voucher, like I can't think of any benefit to the supermarket for this for one?
Same as the previously mentioned and also unnamed supermarket that requires you to cash out the voucher instead of using to offset your shopping
As well as being against the rules I see no physical benefit to the supermarket
Very true. They can always be told to either use another machine or to be patient. Or else i could politely tell them to get on my level XD
Honestly though i wouldn't mind cutting it short, getting the voucher and then letting them have a go at using the machine, then continuing after they're gone.
i can imagine seeing headlines reading: Deposit Return Scheme Scuffle! cans and bottles found laying all over the floor in the aftermath of what can only be described as an RVM attempt gone wrong. One customer who spent quite a long time using the machine has disgruntled others who waited in line to use the machine, only to find that the machine had reached its maximum capacity for recyclable materials.
As funny as that sounds, thats actually not a bad idea.
Could even throw on a helmet for the craic, or a clipboard.
So if footfall at those times is bad at that supermarket you don't think by restricting the times you can get the money back you are legally entitled to won't benefit that supermarket by them making you go at those times? I find it hard to believe how some posters here will try to justify everything that's plainly being pointed out as an inconvenience and then question posters integrity is beyond belief.
I'd assume staffing/resource issues being the primary reason.
Sounds just the ticket. I'll sort the body cameras and location trackers. No-one will believe us without proof.
Not even the very obvious one that would make people buy something there & use the voucher towards payment
