The fourth NATO country signed a 10-year military assistance agreement with Ukraine
More long term assurances for Ukraine
Would be an interesting choice. Could certainly see the Mirages taking a fighter bomber role with emphasis on the bomber part. Greece is getting some F35s, which may help things along. The Middle Eastern countries could rather quietly transfer some. Think a good chunk of the Gepards were sourced from that part of the world. A new aircraft in the inventory could certainly boost morale too.
It was no miscalculation....the Kremlin weighed the pros and cons, and that this was the lesser evil of the two options for them, but to say that's it, it's all over, would be premature in the extreme. Far from it, one way or another.
Seems Ukraine moved some up closer to the front lines. Russia using airpower closer to the front lines pushing from adviika direction etc. More chances to hit aircraft then as there being used closer to help Russian forces push out from there. Plus with the A50 plane being destroyed probably has left a bit of a gap at the moment for Ukraine to exploit. But have also seen a good few videos of Ukrainian AA systems getting taken out over same period.
In any other half normal Country, the uprising would have taken place a long time ago......but this is Putins mafia state, where "normal" is an unknown word, much less its behaviour.
After one of Putin's stooges publicly warning people not to attend, with the police ordered to check the documents of all who attended, and the details of any military age men to be handed over to the recruitment office? And everyone was warned that it was an illegal gathering as no permit had been issued. The only Putin men there were the ones taking pics to be used later on for reprisals. Putin cannot allow this event to go unpunished.
They only do that when Putin is making a public appearance (or to be correct, one of his doubles!!)
March 7th
Uh...
"Ukraine terrorists" (putin's fsb) under the cover of darkness each night will desecrate the grave. It'll get so bad that in the interest of the family, Putin will authorise the remains be moved to a more remote location or to be cremated and handed over to the family. Perhaps the "terrorists" will take the body.
Actually in the dead of night and very soon would be a good time to dig the grave up, take out the coffin and fill the grave back in. As it is a fresh grave, no one would know the difference, whether the coffin was still there or not. Then take the coffin somewhere and cremate it, say nothing. Job done.
Only issue of course is grave still there .. but empty
Anyway after today .. I dont think that grave is going to last too long how ever its done. And most who turned up today for the funeral .. especially males, will be on there way to the Ukraine front lines and not long for this world.
As for is todays funeral and outburst of public grief going to make any difference internally in Russia or to Ukraine .. Nope, dont thing so, not for immediate future anyway. Putin has such an Iron grip and if he disappears off the map, there are worse to replace him from the siloviki surrounding him.
Sorry, I'm just not optimistic about all this .. I really wish I was. All we can do is hope
Seems like some Indian men accepted jobs in Dubai, only to discover it's a scam and ended up in Ukraine
If that's true, it's really highlighting the desperation Russia's power structures are feeling that they're going to these lengths to avoid calling up the urban middle-class.
I saw someone claim here a week or two ago that once Putin wins the next election, he's going to feel secure to order full mobilisation, so if that occurs then the Russian urban middle class's day is coming. However, I'm pretty sure that a people can revolt against mass conscription regardless of recent elections, so it would still be a very dicey move on Putin's part.
Depends on the level of hubris he has post election
And aside from that....

Oh
The leaked audio is embarrassing for Germany tonight. German counterintelligence will be busy trying to figure out how the russians managed to tap the officers.
Some crowd .. this BBC video from a higher level shows how big. Im beginning to wonder will the Russian peoples protest be at this fake election
What’s this?
Seems to be German officers having 40 mins conversation with Ukrainian counterparts about how to attack kerch bridge to destroy it.
Excellent, more of this please.
Yeah anything to help Ukraine is always welcome. If something they know that can help guide Ukraine in this 100% it's welcome.
The irony is the Germans have the ideal weapon (Taurus) to take out the bridge, but refuse to supply them to Ukraine. Well they do come up whit good excuses, takes 6 months to Train Ukrainians, German soldiers would need to be involved, they don't have enough stock (it only takes one). Funnily enough I never heard the only plausible excuse being used, that Ukraine lack the aircraft to fire it from. (I'm aware Stormshadows have been used, they could have easily make up an excuse related to Ukraine not having NATO planes rather than their current lame excuses)
It's an interesting conversation though, didn't someone on here claim the US had told Ukraine not to attack the Kerch bridge (I assume, what would be the third time) in order not to upset Russia?
I posted that it was a suggestion made on the BBC documentary Putin & the West
I don't buy the BBC's suggestion. Ukraine has already attacked it twice. All western countries do not see any of Crimea as off limits. They also don't see any attacks within Russia (with Ukrainian weapons) as off limits. I was reading (I forget the country, may have been a Baltic country) who recently said they are not restricting Ukraine in what targets they choose, within Ukraine or within Russia.
