XsApollo isn't entirely wrong, Navalny only recognised Ukrainian independence when it was politically expedient to do so as he was already in a prison cell.
He was a heroically brave man but his politics were closer to those espoused by Putin than many would care to admit.
What needs to happen i feel is a crackdown on the crowds by the police. Otherwise the people will express their grief for a day and it will peter out imo.
Safety in numbers I guess. Will that make others sit up.
Another one bites the dust?
Trump and his merry band really are the lowest form of pond life.
Nope, but I do read, and I am not blinded by my hate for Putin.
lol
Supposedly reports from Russian media of cruise missiles attacking Kerch. Fingers crossed.
Haha. Suppose not alright. I was just thinking out loud with my theory
They claimed 12 missiles (storm shadows, Scalp and some american decoy yoke) all shot down. So not sure what to believe.
Post is obsessive . The war has continued because of the wests interference.
I mean Russia claims they shoot down every storm shadow missile. But to date the only Storm shadow failure that's been accurately reported as missing a target was one that misfired and landed in a field somewhere some months back to the best of my knowledge.
Ukraine usually only bother with MALD when launching the expensive SCALP/Stormshadow to confuse and bait out air defenses. Budanov did recently warn average Russians not to use the bridge. But it was my understanding that SCALP/Stormshadows with the range that were given to Ukraine can't actually reach the bridge and that they're not great bridge busters anyway.
Time will tell I guess.
Yeah, I'm just wondering if an attack happened at all.
Usually the Russian military are lying when they open their mouths.
Some places reporting 14 planes in 14 days !
The wests interference in what? In Putins murderous invasion? Oh if only we let Putin run rampant across a young democratic and militarily neutral european country.
This awful war would be over by now. 😥
Absolute kremlin sh*te. And nothing more.
just looking at the crowds at the funeral today and cant help thinking an awful lot of people should stay away from windows...
And the interference of Iran and North Korea then under this "logic"?
Terrible of the West to "interfere" with Russian's illegal and unprovoked invasion of its sovereign neighbour, in violation of many treaties Russia has signed.
Navalny's Grave
We shall see if this is a turning point inside Russia OR .. not
Navalny's funeral
All these planes being shot down, is it a change in tactics or a change in equipment?
There is something going on, I wonder if there's equipment operating in Ukraine that we haven't been told about, French SAMs maybe?
Never understood the idea of disclosing all the equipment Ukraine were receiving.
Keep Russia guessing all the time, tell them nothing.
ah sure, a western agent sent in do discredit. Or Ukrainian agent. Or AI generated footage, they have not made their minds up yet.
LIVE NOW - Alexei Navalny supporters gather near the cemetery where the opposition figure was buried.
Will this remain peaceful? Will the security forces patience run out with an order from the top
There's a good program made by the BBC (I think) called " Trauma Zone" have you seen it?. It gives a really good idea what Russia was like after the breakup of the USSR. The Oligarchs and Mafia just swooped in and commandeered everything from a population that after communism didn't know what a decision was, never mind how to make one. The system collapsed completely, and it got so bad, that they faced starvation (in parts it actually happened). Yeltsin tried to exert control of the Oligarchs / Mafia, and failed, but Putin used a different method, he jailed the wealthiest Oligarch of them all Khodorkovsky as an example of what he could do. and then called a meeting with all the Oligarch's and informed (no discussion) them of the new system he was implementing. So, you are right, in the beginning, compared to what had gone before, Putin was seen as a Saviour, and still is today especially by the older people. And as you said, even today, People have a good lifestyle. It all depends on what kind of a "roof" they have. And certainly, I would not go back under the present circumstances anyway, and I have several invitations. Nyet Spassibo!!! Pity, I'd like to go back and see a bit more of it, it's a fascinating Country, and the people are fine too, once they get to know you.
Thought this was interesting about the long term economic impact. Also shows the nonsense some people spout about Russia's economy doing well is all bollox
And even back at the beginning after the invasion, when thousands protested, and when they started grabbing the men, the women organized women only protests.....didnt do them any good though. Their menfolk were identified and rounded up for the army. And bear in mind, back then they protested in their thousands.
The last thing Putin will want now is a Tomb of the Martyr right in Moscow itself. Be interesting to see what he will do about it.
