If Ukraine fights to the last man, it means they lose. Then, why would Russia entertain a peace deal if they get all of Ukraine by continuing the war?

The Russian air force seem to be having a very bad month. If the Russians manage to take Robotyne next month, it would be a loss to the defenders. It was one of the gains of the counter offensive.
Has Ukraine decided to permanently move a patriot system closer to the frontline? The Russians probably expected them to hastely retreat it after the first strikes like they usually do.
All these downed planes are saving Ukraine from a **** load of glide bombs. Hopefully the Russians keep testing it on a daily basis the stupid bastards.
We should be aiding Ukraine militarily AND working to ensure regime change in Russia because as long as Putin is in charge this war will go on. Both approaches are necessary, there can be no improvement in relations with Russia as long as he and his circle of criminals are in charge. Scholz is an odd one. Just when he seems a lost cause he does something significant and admirable. As soon as you start believing in him, he gets flakey again. Hard to know what makes him really tick, however he's also struggling badly domestically so certainly he's not going to be the white knight for Ukraine in all this, he's too busy trying to steady Germany's ship
Absolutely, they should be ruthlessly demonied. We also need to stop this nonsense of Russian & Belarussian competing in international sorting and cultural events. The west should be refusing entry to any Russian holiday makers. Ourselves - we have the Aughinish Alumina plant in Clare to close.

Seems UA moved their AA closer to the front as a lot seem to be getting hit. Saw a few S300s getting blasted recently.
Which in turn could mean more meat-grinder tactics if the use of air cover becomes more limited / restricted; though that's an insane volume of jets to be losing without any apparent change in usage. You'd have to imagine any Western air-force would immediately reconsider deployments after even half of that number were downed.
So all this public talk of sending in french troops is just a PR tactic. Because NATO countries can and already do have personnel in Ukraine. And Putin's going to do **** all about it.
His public threats are also PR bollox and sadly a large portion of western society will fear these words and succumb to the nuclear sabre rattling.
There's speculation that Ukraine took some S200 missiles out of storage. They use liquid fuel with solid rocket boosters. So i'd imagine they had to figure out how to refuel them safely, Hense this being a new tactic.
Who knows, what ever they have done, let them keep doing it!

Ukraine would have their own means. Missile locked on, plane disappearing off radar, SOS call, enemy Comms, visual confirmation. Satellite imagery showing less planes at airbases etc.
But this seems too good to be true.
The reality is a large portion of western society is indifferent to the Ukraine war at this stage except to the degree they perceive it as affecting housing and prices. They are not lying awake at night worrying about a nuclear confrontation with Russia, that's all long gone

Having some troops basically " training" Ukraine troops is different to having troops fighting, delighted to see macron statement, early in the conflict it was difficult to tell if macron was playing both sides, there's no doubt now ,I am guessing he was giving diplomacy every chance but is giving up on it now.
