Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Oh my God those Olympia seats! Every time I fail to get standing, I'm convinced the leg space has shrunk since the time before. My youngest fella is 6'2 at 12 years old. You'd want to see him trying to fold himself into the seat for Dadi Freyr! And his elder brother is taller again and coming to Idles with me in November.
I'm 5'10 and the upstairs seats are a lottery even for me.
Ground floor standing is fine but upstairs is a disaster. Every second row is tolerable but the rest can be legitimately painful to sit in.
convinced that downstairs seating for comedy shows/plays where bought solely for kids to sit in for pantos. No normal person can sit in them for long without pain
Is Idles a seated gig? Thought that would be standing
Olympia is 60/40 seats to standing
Yeah, My son too young for the floor, certainly at Idles. I hate being in the seats myself. Love the Olympia but seats a necessity this time.
Ticket got for Kings Of Leon. 107 for gold circle.
They’ll be doing loads of festivals. Definitely doing Glasto on the Woodsies/John Peel Stage.
The MCD gig guide email has The Murder Capital supporting KOL at Marlay Park.
Not mentioned on MCD site or socials though, so not clear if they're also on the bill, or some weird mistake with them listed by accident instead of The War On Drugs.
Probably just be a mistake due to supporting Pearl jam there, they aren’t available for Kings of Leon as they’ll be in Europe with Pearl Jam
Electric Six playing the Academy on 28th November.
Journey with Foreigner back in 2011 was €65.70 for Block E and 13 years later (hard to believe its that long ago) central blocks are €151.25. Maybe those prices would be justifed a bit if Steve Perry was back
Get these 'legacy acts' need that $$$ and no doubt missed us 'Irish'
They need the extra money from this tour so they can sue eachother when they are not on tour.
By all accounts they all hate each other. Should make quite the spectical.
Except Arnel who seems happy to be there
Same time, same venue, every year
Death,Taxes...Electric 6 playing the Academy on the lead up to Christmas.
They have always played on a Saturday night, pity this falls on a Thursday. One of the greatest live acts on the circuit.
Has anyone tried to get tickets to Villagers in store performance in Tower Records (via pre-order of their next album)? Everytime I get to the payment page I get a black screen.
Link to tickets here: https://villagers.ffm.to/instores
I can get to the payment screen with no issues.
Interesting you say that – I've never been able to buy anything form their website. When I click on Proceed to Checkout it takes me back to the home page on desktop, phone, or Ipad. I've mailed them about it but they don't seem too bothered.
What device/ browser are you using please? I have tried phone and laptop (chrome and Edge) and nothing has worked.
Using Chrome on my Windows Desktop.
Tried it again - now its crashing!
Ok, must be hit or miss. Thanks
I’ve tried with Safari on an iPhone and no bother.
I dropped them an email and they're getting onto the payments provider to fix it.
Niamh Regan playing Liberty Hall, Dublin on Friday 15th November. Tickets on sale tomorrow. https://twitter.com/foggynotions/status/1763154451974492630?t=IhLzMFOIp53tTkAUuObLZw&s=19
Re; Kings of Leon, WOD in Marlay park, any idea what times these may be on stage? Might try to fit it in if it doesn't clash with other commitments that weekend. Never been to a concert out there - what are return arrangements back to the city like? Public bus, Luas still available at close of concert? Is there usually a curfew for concerts there?
Over by 10:30 ish, kings on around 8:30/9. TWOD on around 7.
getting out of marley to where your going can be tricky and there can be delays ,
Horrific, don't go if you actually need to get out, an absolute **** show for transport.
Or head right up the back during the encore and leave during the last song, but where's the fun in that.
