I ordered M3H on 29th Nov and have had vin number for a good few weeks now. Delivery moved out 7/3-22/3 though
It seems the only cars that Tesla are reneging on now are ex demo cars that are not new. Someone in Tesla told people to switch from a car on the boat to an ex demo to ensure the 0% it seems. Whether they got that 0% assurance on the demo car in writing/email will determine the outcome of this battle I suspect. Tesla will play hardball but I think if anyone has written confirmation of the 0% they'll be ok.
I was one of the 2023 firesale 'beneficiaries' until Tesla rowed back on it. I didn't feel I had a strong enough case at the time to risk the District Court route and associated legal costs. They could have successfully defended it as a pricing error. So I sucked it up, but registered a complaint with the CPCC which was followed up on. I wasn't the only one who registered a complaint about that to the CPCC.
That's pretty shocking. I've an order in with est delivery Apr - May but would cancel if it ends up reverting to 6.9% and if they're reneging on it now, there's very little chance of it being extended. Will keep an eye on inventory coming in though for the MY.
Basically the issue is with people that switched to ex-demo cars to gaurantee delivery before the end of March when their custom order estimated delivery date was pushed out. They were told that they qualified for the 0% finance offer on the demo vehicle but the day before delivery, after paying the deposit, they were told that it didn't qualify and would be 6.9%.
Someone else commented below saying the same thing happened her.
I ordered the start of Jan but changed the order to one from Inventory start of Feb and got the VIN straight away.
Brilliant - the very best of luck with it! That's not ideal with chip but great service, when did you order yours?
Can you give more info / screenshot of this as it's important for a lot of people.
Collected my Y this morning. It was a bit dirty but I pointed out the issues and they sent over two guys who hand washed it and it was fine then.
Only problem is there is quite a big paint chip on the front bumper. I reported it while still with the Tesla rep and he logged it as a delivery issue. So they are coming out to my house in a few days to fit an entire new bumper - apparently they don’t fix paint!
Anyone else put a deposit for a M3H on Nov (22nd in my case) and still don't have a VIN?
Best of luck with your new car. I hope it and your Tesla experience are 100% positive.
... oh and while I'm on my soapbox here, pleeeeeease no more messages on State of Charge. Lads, ffs just plug it in for a tiny few minutes - it charges verrrrrrry fast and will have you home in no time. Though in my case I'll be driving the long way home with a beaming grin ear to ear, grateful that I'm in one of the most advanced incredible cars on earth. And lastly for context this is not a "Tesla" issue: I've bought 3 new EVs in the past 4 years - VW eGolf had 25% SOC (equivalent of 50km range), Nissan Leaf had 30% SOC (a little better at 66km range), and an Ioniq 5 22% SOC (70km). So as a survivor of low SOC at acceptance I'm happy to help anyone who needs reassurance 😎
Ah lads, the mood here is becoming like a wake. Come on, let's get the enthusiasm and energy levels up again! Lots of us eagerly awaiting delivery of our first Tezzzlas... and previous posts have highlighted excellent delivery day experiences and very excited new owners. Even more reviews in the past 7 days on YouTube waxing lyrical about how good the new Model 3 is. Obstacles get overcome folks. Dirty cars get gleaming with a wash... interest rates sway up and down... mild disappointments which pale into insignificance in the big picture. We're gonna be driving sensational machines. Malacca Highway arriving into Dublin Port this afternoon, latest ETA 1.30pm. It is orange and white in colour in case any Dubs on here want to get the binoculars out 😁. It has capacity for 1,250 vehicles... let's hope it's full to the brim & so us waiting have less to wait.
It's for demo models which people took to guarantee getting in before the March 31 deadline. Now being told 6.9% interest!
Ya the end of March. Surely Tesla haven't a leg to stand on. Still advertising as 0 at the moment.
That's crazy, the cut off isn't supposed to be for another month I thought?
A few people on Facebook saying Tesla are renaging on the 0% finance 24hours before they are due to pick up their Model Y's.
I'd be checking the tyre pressures as well if I were you. Cars are often transported at very high pressure which should then be lowered at PDI - but yours clearly wasn't touched so may be worth confirming they're ~42PSI and not 50+.
Keep the pressure on them, ffs what you got is not normal.
No sign of collection and the VIN checker says the car was manufactured in January 23 so not sure how accurate it is.
i'm collecting my car on Friday and based on vin number my car was "Manufactured on 15-Jun-2023"
@unklerosco put your VIN in here https://tesla-info.com/tesla-data-decoder.php or a similar site to get an idea of when your car was built. Until recently Tesla were selling cars as fast as they could build and ship them. So I suspect they have zero processes for maintaining cars stored in a yard. Cars would usually be shipped very soon after build and back in 2023 before Yemen, they would arrive in Europe 4 weeks after being loaded.
Refund
Did u return a car for a replacement or refund?
They can certainly try as they did in my case.
They can't ignore the request and just circumvent consumer law. If you have written proof you tried to engage with them to return the car but they didn't communicate, surely a judge would rule in your favour?
Unfortunately in my experience requests carry no weight with Tesla, unless customer service has changed dramatically in the last year. . You need to decide if you want to accept or return the car based on your experience and I'd suggest you do this sooner rather than later and move on then.
If you decide to return it Tesla may ignore your request and run the clock down, you have 14 days to return the car , not 30 and you will be charged 55 cent per klm for ever klm over 100.
Best of luck whatever you decide to do, personally I feel this is dreadful service

Mats are standard. Which makes this example very strange.
The mats in a sealed package in the boot.
It's an AWD. I've send off an email with the issues, considering requesting a replacement vehicle once I get someone to speak with. Not the experience I was expecting for my first new car!
