It's not like the pro-Trump Republican voters would just vote Democrat if the Republican politicians at the Capitol had voted for aid to Ukraine. So the idea that those politicians would lose their seats if they went against Trump doesn't make sense.
Israel is the capital of Israel, wow
The federal courts would never let Trump have everything his own way. Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett would condemn far-right violence to the same degree as far-left violence - conservatives are especially big on law and order.
Conservatives are especially big on law and order? You are having a laugh aren't you?
Their leader is up on 91 charges, found civilly liable for sexual assault. Found to have acted fraudulently and have done everything to try to subvert justice for Jan 6th.
Law and order for others for sure.
Kavanaugh and Barrett also led their Senate hearings to believe that Roe V Wade was settled. They lied.
The Russia Derangement is really striking
Remind me again how the bipartisan border deal failed?
How many Republicans who went against trump still have their positions?
Etc etc etc
That's my point: how is it that Republican politicians think they'd lose their seats this November if they went against Trump? I ask that question because it's not like the pro-Trump Republican voters are going to vote Democrat! So the Republicans wouldn't lose many votes if they went against Trump.
Republicans keep shooting them selves in the foot. Now they want to oppose an IVF protection bill…
Looks like the Fani Willis sideshow hit a massive face plant as primary witness for allegation concedes he doesn’t know fcuk and all about their relationship.
Whatever Trump is and his followers are, they're not conservative. Many of the changes being kicked around in Trumpland are pretty radical. It's only because America has two parties that Trump even has an association with what you might call traditional conservatives at all.
Lauren Boebert’s 18 year old son is in a lot of trouble. Sounds like breaking into/stealing cars, identity theft, stolen credit cards if I’m not mistaken, listed as financial devices here. Either a cry for help or more evidence that whole family is broken, either way it will be good for them all when she’s voted out in November (no longer in her old gerrymandered district)
Yesterday's Michigan primary only reinforced this. Trump absolutely walloped Haley.
There is no 'Reagan wing' waiting to take back control from the madness. They've all either bent the knee to Trump or walked away.
They would get primaried out.
'Conservative' in US political terms no longer means what it used to (under Reagan for example) and it is also very far removed from the European political meaning of the word.
I think 'Trumpist' is a better and more accurate term.
It's not even populist as on many issues they put themselves in opposition to the majority. It is reactionary.
Their fear is not losing to a Democrat, it's getting Primaried by a MAGA loon.
In swing districts ,if they then run the MAGA loon they lose to the Democrat.
Some polls had him up over 55%. Was never in doubt. What was margin of victory in the end?
The election now seems to boil down to the least old guy winning.
I'm hoping Biden will somehow carry this election off. You'd fear for the future if Trump wins, and all you can hope is the damage he does is limited in 4 years.
His commitment to NATO for example is questionable as is those in Washington who support him. Expect a load more tax cuts too.
No. The election boils down to a choice between an experienced and competent democrat that believes in democracy and the rule of law.
And a fraudster, sexual assaulter, lying, incompetent, lazy man that what's to tear up the constition and believes that America needs a dictatorship led by him.
They both happen to be old but that is where the similarity ends
About 40% it looks like. Relatively resounding win, but once again less than polls suggested.
He's winning the primaries, but not as bigly as he'd been expected to.
This is straw-clutching. He's absolutely smashed his opponents in the primaries.
And yes, he has unique vulnerabilities in the general but the primary is done.
So its ok for Trump to lie about, insult and abuse people, but not his victim? I do think its a bit of a pity to go to his level, but I also think she is entitled.
I don’t won’t Trump running… but it would be very funny to seem loose very bigly
Not straw-clutching at all. He absolutely did smash his opponents in the primaries. He didn't even attend the debates and still many Republicans were saying he won the debates by not showing up. He's won the primaries easily.
But he also won them by smaller margins than he was expected to considering he's running as the previous President, with the support of the GOP behind him, and many of the polls showed that there are many Independents and significant pockets of Republicans who have signalled that they won't vote for him if he's the candidate in the General Election. Whether that means they vote for Biden or don't vote at all, that's still a problem. He also hasn't been raising as much money as he should have been (probably because he's clearly going to use a big chunk of it for his own legal issues).
So not clutching at straws at all, simply demonstrating that even in winning the primaries, his campaign is facing significant issues.
I seriously doubt that's her. The verification tick is likely meaningless.
