Without a doubt. Prigozhin as corrupt as any of them, he was a Putin insider up until the last few months of his life. That other poster doesn't have a clue what he was posting about.
Another admirable Russian jailed for standing up for human rights today:
I think it might be more clever than that. France and UK already sending long range missiles to Ukraine.
Germany says no to Taurus sent to Ukraine.
France proposes the possibility of troops.
Germany freaks out.
Taurus is not such a bad idea to send instead.
Did this troglodyte suddenly find a history book or something?
I don't think any country is going to commit its troops to a war of the intensity we're seeing in Ukraine without some kind of cast-iron obligation or existential danger, similar to the US invoking Article 5 in NATO or a UN resolution being passed (which it can't because Russia has a veto).
Recent protests and increasing antipathy towards his government might have made him realise winters in Russia are quite cold & all the back channel money in the worl means nothing if he has to flee Hungary in disgrace.
Well .. he does say this here
"Hungary's Orban says he does not believe in Ukraine’s victory"
Then he wants Russia to win & take over Ukraine which means as far as I know he will have Russian Border right up on his own.
That's enough in of itself to show you where he is at and with who
Scholz is still obstructing Taurus deliveries and is being heavily criticised within his own coalition. I don't think this all some clever masterplan to justify sending them after all
Utterly disgraceful and they be ashamed to be supporting the Russian dictatorship which is effectively what that vote is doing.
Yes, I'm sure a few exercises in Latvia is just what's needed for Putin to realise his mistake and call off the war.... Seriously, more empty posturing is the number one suggestion?
Close all border crossing to all Russians: never going to happen after 2 years of war. Same with the ridiculous Kaliningrad proposal. Just not going to happen now.
Share more intelligence - you do realise NATO has been doing this from the start?
Weapons, weapons, weapons and a much more concerted effort to stir up social unrest and dissent in Russia is what is needed (one thing the Russians excel at and can be learned from)
More effective sanctions. Cut off aid and tech to N Korea and Iran. Appropriate Russian assets abroad...
it seems they have only 125 of them, which would leave them short if they did
June 2024 for the elections folks! only 4 more months of these lunatics if we all go out and vote!
why has marcon gone from pro putin to this
I think he was leaving the door open for Putin to reconsider but now knows that he never will..
Well, that was eloquent..
That said, I really wouldn’t rule out anything with him. If we agree he is somewhat… self-centered and attention seeking, can you imagine the temptation he might have to simply tell the Army to boot Russia out of Ukraine? He’d have Trump Square in Kiev with a massive statue, that military parade in DC that he wanted, tanks and all (we had one after 1991), he would have taken action that nobody in Europe had the courage to take and be the savior of Europe, and so on and so forth.
Whatever way he goes, I don’t think “in moderation” is going to be an appropriate adjective. It doesn’t seem to be his style.
FWIW, I believe Macron spoke truth. OK, the Netherlands is throwing 100mn Euro at Ukraine. Unfortunately, a $100 Euro Bill lacks terminal effect when fired from a howitzer. If the shells aren’t there to be bought with the money, it’s not of particular help. It’s not money which will stop Russia, it is weapons and ammunition If, due to a lack of weapons and ammunition, Ukraine ultimately falls. Europe will be left with a successful, belligerent and confident Russia on their border (And an insane amount of refugees). So far, Europe is hedging its bets. It is trying to avoid this outcome without using its own military forces. If this Plan A fails, plan B is to do it themselves. Or accept that resurgent Russia on their border with a bit of breathing space to recover and rearm, which seems a poor proposal.
yep. "pro putin". ffs. 🙄
As was said because he thought Putin might reconsider. And maybe because he has intelligence of Russian intentions if they win.
Certain sections of the left in this country have been getting away with being supportive of Russia for too long.
Whether it's this vote, the letter from Sabine Higgins from "Dublin 8" or anti-NATO idiots turning up to a pro-Ukrainian rally in Dublin at the start of the war.
Hopefully this behaviour is remembered at the ballot box in the future.
Abandon all hope ye who come this way. Europe / we need to absolutely disconnect from USA, sooner the better.
Listen to this, if you can, yes believe your ears. Putins job is done, he has the USA firmly in his grasp, it is lost to us. The brainwashing is complete. Its classic case of
How do you feel after listening to that?
Macron wants nato to look to france instead of the US,
Up to now every country in Nato looked to the US as their reliable backstop,
Germany hasn't really gor a military,or the demographic to be of much use , and eastern europe is too close to the action ,
If europe were to put boots on the ground in ukraine, i assume Russia would retaliate, and while russia are short on ballistic missiles theyre not out , and shahed style drones could hit transport hubs in poland
Shahed drones wouldn't get anywhere near their targets were they to try and hit Poland. For a start the Poles have an integrated air defence that includes two Patriot batteries which will soon increase to eight and a pretty modern air force.
Officials have rushed to clarify Macron's over the top statement that NATO would get involved. There is no interest in getting involved .I know it's hard for the war cheerleaders .
The only way is a negotiation on peace there .
https://www.straitstimes.com/world/europe/macrons-ukraine-troop-talk-shakes-up-nato-allies&ved=2ahUKEwji7bSdwc2EAxVsyDgGHUmqDh8QFnoECBQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw2xDY5F5516X2BoTRv5_y7e
Which we all know, is not an option since Russia doesn’t respect any treaties and break them when they want. What is there to negotiate then.
Putin is in his 70's, at his age he will be looking to go out with a legacy and enjoy some sort of a peace dividend at home. Its going to take Russia several years to rebuilt their newly acquired lands. After that they be facing the same sh1tty demographics as Europe is, the last thing Russia needs is more land and maintaining a overly large army of otherwise scarce workers.
This poster is in the refugee thread praying for a Trump win cause they think he will stop the war and Putin will go home and we won’t have anymore Ukrainian refugees coming here.
Are there not a lot of precidences where opposites who have a common objective - neutralising Putin- ‘come together’ to achieve same and then sort out their differences ‘to the best of their ability ‘ afterwards.?
They're always in the refugee thread
