Well, you would hope that the issues identified (and more) have been fixed so that the health inspector has signed off on a reopening.
I was in the ballincollig one recently, very good but I will say the decor and appearance was shabby
Literally just logged on to post that same article. My daughters got a takeaway from there on Friday and I collected it for them, the place was really busy. I’ve never eaten from there and definitely won’t now.
I tried the beef, hugely disappointed. €15 and there was tiny pieces of steak in it, so small you couldn't get any feel for the texture, loaded with shredded cabbage (dont know exact term) and a cold mayonaise sauce on top.
€8 too for a portion of crinkle cut fries, loaded with spicy mayo and small bit of Kimchi.
Really really poor value.
Coriander, Douglas ..disappointing as I know this place has been mentioned....it doesn't seem to be a slight oversight either in what was found according to the notes made.
I’ve had one great experience and one bad one in the glass curtain. Must definitely go again to make sure it was an outlier!
Have to agree regarding Glass Curtain. What a lovely eating experience. Went there a few weeks back and got the vegetarian tasting menu with wine pairing. Such a treat!
There's no one in the city can touch Paradisso or Glass Curtiain, in my opinion.
Finally got to eat at the Glass Curtain last night and it lived up to expectations and more. The food is absolutely incredible and the service and people working there are all fantastic. The duck for two was maybe the nicest duck I have ever eaten. Beautifully tender and perfect crispy skin. IMO best restaurant in Cork right now.

For some tea and dim sum. The tea itself had an amazing flavour and worth going for alone. One of my favourite places in the city. Lovely, cosy environment.
These are exquisitely juicy and flavoursome Steamed Pork Dumplings. Definitely one of my favourites along with the Grilled Pork Dumpling with Chinese Vinegar.
The XO Sauce Fry Grilled Radish cake came in the form of an omelette incorporating stir fried vegetables which seems like something I'd make when pissed, tbh. The radish cakes themselves were delicious though, and I'll probably try the Grill Radish Cake option the next time.
Tried Zocale in Douglas and really liked it. Quite different to the other burrito spots around. Only thing was the burritos were cold. Maybe that's just the style? There was a LOT of salad/salsa in there.... very tasty anyway.
I've been to Goldie 3 or 4 times over the last year and each time is nicer than the last. It is my favourite restaurant in town now and I always look forward to going. The food, atmosphere and service is all top notch. Price wise it's never too bad for me either, because my family and friends know at this stage that any birthday/Christmas all I want is vouchers for the Market Lane Group!😅
I live very nearby and pop in for a pint sometime.
I must try the lunch when the weather improves, but that menu looks expensive! I hope the food is of good quality.
That's interesting. They're also closing their outlet in the Black Market. The article mentions that they operate the Market so in that spot they should have control over the things they are giving out about i.e. no rent for the stall etc.
yeah and its a fabulous setting
Three of us went to the River Lee Hotel for dinner a couple of weeks ago (The Grill Room).
Starter, main course and dessert along with a pint, a bourbon and a coffee.
Thoroughly excellent food, service and ambience. I’d return without hesitation.
Well worth a visit!

Yes they are there.
The Burnt outlet in the Black Market will close, but the market will continue to have a pizza offering.

Oakfire pizza is in the marina market. Not sure about the black market.
do they have a stall in marina market? or black market... there is a pizza stall in both but cant rem which is which
Yes was in todays news
Is Burnt Pizza on princes street closed? Google says yes
My big issue with the Marina Market is that there seems to be virtually no offerings smaller than a full meal.
Surely, street food should offer this? I've, on occasion, found myself walking through mm to get somewhere and thought I'd grab a tasty snack but I couldn't find anything.
I'd like to see someone doing something like grilled skewers where you might buy 6 to make up a meal, but you can buy one or two if you like. It seems everything is portioned and priced to be a meal. Nothing small you can grab and eat from your hand for <€5. Ireland is poor for this kind of snacking, generally, bar sausage rolls from Centra!
Hana Korean... Had their chicken tacos in MM. Delicious!
Sounds delish… anyone try this yet?

cool
I know this is not a music forum but anyway.. loved the little stories they had with each song.. they know how to truly entertain their audience - so engaging
The Woodford sounds great - I am not a lover of the furnishing in there - a bit rickety
Loved it, I'm East London originally and remember my mum buying the Fureys and Davey Arthur album in 1974...I was 10 🫣. Food in the Woodforde was the icing on the cake, service was so personal and great food great value. Will be my pre opera house venue from now on
A refresh for greenes was definitely needed but I'm not entirely sure a whole rebrand was needed. Be interesting to see what they come up with
Not a surprise, I was last there a few years ago found the menu dated and pretentious. Food was a bit above average too, which for fine dining isn't good enough.
also, on the back of my rant about Perry St Dripsey - €4.25 for a "cup" of flat white..
a flat white is €3.60 in Carewswood.. and its a v nice establishment
I was in the OH last night too - hope you enjoyed the concert - I sure did - I went along in memory of my Dad who was a massive Furey's fan
