RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Ah balls
It wasn't the worst and had a few stories they could do for season 3
I'll miss the craic on the thread here as much as the show... it lent itself very well to boards commentaries :)
And we'll never really find out what happened to the beguiling MOLLY.
We demand a conclusion to this anecdote.
I thought Charlie would have been one of the easier cast memebers to get resigned up, his filming schedule aside as his wife is one of the producers of the series and that's how the originally got him signed on.
Now that might have changed since she was pretty high up in Bron TV and it was that company that went bankrupt.
That's disappointing 😞
Guess we just have to imagine what happened like for Love/Hate. Suppose Fran probably survived but fucked up mentally for the rest of his life, the traveller lad got life in jail for murder and Nidges family moved away
Birdie prob took over the Kineslla empire, the other family probably kept stealing from supermarkets
What will the hate-watchers whinge about now?
Feel sorry for the Aviva Stadium
Who's going to be showing those awesome aerial shots now
Is the source the article refers to just the actor they are quoting who was in a few episodes. He says it is cancelled because the main actors contracts have run out. Nothing stopping them signing up again if the scheduling doesn't conflict with anything else. Outside of Charlie Cox that might not be hard to sort so if they can work it around his schedule, I could see it coming back.
Did they not film seasons 2 and 3 back to back?
RTE when asked about it wouldn't say if it was cancelled or not so maybe that means they are trying to work something out.
Probably trying to find another production company to help finance it.
I don't agree that the cast being out of contract means it's finished.
A season three without a couple of the current cast would be fine.
I've a feeling with the success in the UK, its going to come back.
Season 3 being filmed was only a rumour.. was very unlikely.
No harm to see it finish giving the finale feeling end to the second season.. hadn't much interest in what was to come.
It's huge in the UK and Australia so I'd expect it to be renewed with a new production company.
Obviously the actors can renegotiate a higher deal though Which might be a stumbling block.
..
an RTÉ spokesperson confirmed to Extra.ie that there’s no announcement to make regarding the show at this moment in time.
So they made an announcement stating there's nothing to announce,😀
Coming to Netflix on 1st May

Could be positive news if they get big figures they might take control of production costs of future series. Trying to get all the actors or majority of them onboard is another thing.
Here's hoping 🤞would love if they continued on with a new season
Season 1 was added to Netflix today.
Emmet Scanlon was on BBC Breakfast this morning discussing KIN and his new movie
Any new update or is it still in limbo following the collapse of the production company?
No, no updates and only mention of Season 3 was being in Old Trafford and Gary Oldman and Alex Ferguson asking if there would be a season 3 but this wasn't followed up on by the presenters
Jesus, that’s high profile fans
Even asking about it in the UK's Radio Times magazine… a reader's letter asks: "surely it can't end like that?"
An RTÉ spokesperson tells RadioTimes.com that there is “nothing to announce at the moment”
Finding a new production comapny to take on the financing and waiting for Charlie Cox to finish up filming Daredevil while also seeing the rest of the cast working on other shows and getting them all free to fit a new filming schedule if they do get a new production company on board then there is still a lot of jugging to get another season signed off on.
I’ve started watching the first season on Netflix.
not sure how I feel about it, well made and good performances but they are all scumbags.
But it has got me curious about something.
There is black and mixed race Guards in two episodes and I was wondering if there are many Guards in real life who are not white or even not born in Ireland.
I’m not criticising the casting (nor pretending I didn’t notice and question it) but it has simply made me curious as I have only ever seen white Irish guards even though I know people of different ethnicities have been joining.
There have a Chinese and a Polish guard on Crimecall regularly.
Just binged through this over the past week. Season 1 was terrible and awfully slow but it picked up in season 2. Still not great and I'm baffled by the stellar reviews in the UK, seemed to be really amateur Fair City style at times.
Not a patch on Love/Hate, apart from the Dad there were no real likeable/hate-able characters. Plus not much humour or Dublin wit as in Love/Hate.
