Now, having her stay in the primary race for far longer than logic would suggest but ultimately losing is potentially good for Democrats as it wastes money that Trump doesn't have to spare in advance of the actual election.
The primaries are not a tight race by any means. At no point have they been. Trump has been the clear and undisputed favourite in the race and not a single state is likely to even be close, supposing he even has opposition until the convention. He could stop spending any money on the campaign and maybe only lose a few percentage points in some of the remaining states v. Haley. So confident of his position with the Republican base that Trump didn't even bother attending the debates that were organised. And in those debates, the other candidates who had any hope of actually doing something barely even criticised Trump, such is his hold on the voter base they themselves were trying to appeal to.
I think Haley wants to simply keep her name and face out there in the small hope that Trump cannot contest the election. Trump's ego won't let him not campaign, so it's good for Democrats in the sense that the more rallies he does, the more independent voters get to hear that he hasn't changed and has, in fact, gotten worse. You can tell that Haley has a personal dislike of Trump, not helped by his recent snide comments about her husband. If she can, why not agitate him until the Summer?

As long as she is in the race she is the natural alternative should something happen to stop Trump winning. If she drops out she leaves it open to a discussion if something happens further down the line.
