Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

Anyone that's missed Tub's last diary entry can still find it online, and will be thrilled to hear it includes a photo, captioned:

It isn't possible for the man to reach the bottom of the barrel of anecdotes and then start to become interesting.
If he had a modicum of interesting stories in his repotoire he would have dredged them up by now.
I haven't the courage to even listen to him for a second.
The huge fall off in traffic on this page suggests that people are switching off. Curiousity maintained interest for a short while but it has well worn off by now. A step down from Andrea Gilligan
If he had gone on to the Isles of Scilly in wintry weather, that could have been interesting
The simple fact is, and I am basing this on hearing half of one show, is that the show is very broken up. Compared to the time he had to waffle on rte, this show is full of adverts and promos. It doesn't make for good radio.
You'd need a pro to get past that set up.

It works fine for the others who have slots on Q102.
I know he has to (supposedly) try to appeal to both audiences, but apart from that... The others don't have people phoning in of course, or they don't have to tell tales about how people recognised them and so on. All the other shows are easy listening for me.
I heard a minute or so of his show, this morning before I turned the dial. He was shouting his name, and the time and the date and that it was raining.
Riveting.
A friend talking to me mentioned that he was up from the country taking a family member to the Beacon Clinic and Nova was on this morning in the shop/cafe...
What was on the taxi drivers radio?
N. O. V. A.
I Know?
Tubs will be disgusted to hear that Paddy Kielty is to be the grand marshall on the St Patrick Day parade this year.
It's almost like the country has moved on and can cope without his stardom.
Being Grand Marshall means having to go and spend a large part of the day on the Northside. That really wouldn't interest Tubs
Just looked at his Instagram stories - my word he is looking every one of his 50 years and more - “fierce auld and shook looking” as they say in his beloved Westport...
Doubt that Virgin radio would have much of make-up dept, definitely not of the scale that tubridy had been accustomed to. That, and his arduous trek across the world in search of a living (London) would be good reason to look so weather-beaten.
Poor fellah must have awful jet lag
I’m sure Tub’s has natural anti blush skin.
His tongue would be licking his lips seeing the figures the lawyers are making in all the reports into this scandal, him being a former law student ( all two weeks of it ) 😀
Team Tubs/NK no doubt working furiously tonight putting in calls to the likes of Norwich & Norfolk town councils to see if A; they are having a St. Patrick’s Day parade and B; are they looking for a Grand Marshall.
Panti Bliss has got the London gig this year so Tubs won’t get that one anyway
theres always Scunthorpe…
Penzance
....
I assume Tubs has said nothing on air today about the further fallout from his extra 150k?
At this rate he may be the initial cause of bringing down the government.
He was never a law student.
So little traffic now on this thread. Is anyone even listening any more?
Even his fanboys have abandoned him.
So much for senior hurling.
His team have probably shot all their arrows, but the current rumbling at rte is far more important to them as public intolerance of their gravy train is being refreshed with the latest revelations.
To be fair, a boards thread won't be an accurate indicator of how things are going for him. Most people here seem to have done much the same as I did - tuned in out of curiosity and then checked in occasionally afterwards to see if things had improved. I don't think there's anything more of note to be said about the radio show nearly 2 months in. It is what it is and time will tell whether it's deemed to be a success or a failure. Personally, I think he's producing woeful radio and I think he has been well and truly exposed as a broadcaster who was promoted way above his capabilities. But what would I know?
I think you have summed it up perfectly.
I’d say the next big flurry on this thread will probably when the next listening figures are released…
until then it’ll just tick along with occasional mentions of being mugged by god in a hoodie,
