While I can't recall the age composition at the same gig in The Grand Social I'd be very confident that it was nowhere near 40% over 40.
I would love it if they could get Heart to play here! They are touring Europe around that time and have no Irish date 🤞

I still felt old at that Dream Wife gig but not half as old as I felt at NewDad in the same venue 2 months later. So many of my kids' friends and my friends' kids in that audience.
Not him no. And I’ve have not attended a single gig at the Róísín or Monroe’s where there’s not a significant proportion of over-40s.
@CoffeeImpala possibly it is cities or venues. Galway for example is somewhere that I, and all gig-going pals can nip to a venue by car or bicycle in maximum 12 mins. Public transport a little longer but 30 mins max door to door if stuff works. I can be there and back in 2 hours, or 2 hours 45 mins including the support act.
Dublin requires more planning and time and more suited to a younger audience. What do other Galway/Limerick heads think?

Last time I caught NewDad at the Róísín it was half youngsters, half over-40s. The latter included Chris O’Dowd. And three of his siblings. And his MOTHER.

As for the age profile stuff - at 55yo with more grey then blonde on top now and often solo at gigs .....I'd say Im probably in a 10% ( f...ing old) category.....couldnt give a continental.

Peter Aiken said a while back, some international acts would be announced in February, and some people would be “surprised”, well Peter, i certainly am not ! A remarkably underwhelming and mostly coma inducing lineup, so far.
