My friend is an LC hons maths & physics teacher, sending me copies of stuff she’s setting for her students to solve 🤣 I send replies with ChatGPT
It wouldn’t surprise me if we find out that their motivation for impeaching Biden is to build up a tally of impeachments on him so that Donnie won’t be the most impeached President, as childish as that sounds.
I fully expect their entire goal is to go run up a series of frivolous & baseless impeachments and hope that they’ll get to 3 before Biden leaves office. Then they can go to the Dems “Na-na-na’na-na! You’ve got the most impeached President!!”
This is the level of maturity I expect from the current GOP.
I'm not sure I will ever use Chat GPT, not just for the ethical debate around it but the hallucination rate.
How’s Donald’s latest relationship with Putin? Is it durable?
Thats the last time I do math in my head and post the results on boards.
Pretty sure you'll just have varying degrees of nationalities depending on profession. Guessing there's a higher rate of people applying for taxi ranks who are not Irish. EU nationals would tend to be higher for a lot of skilled professions etc cause of visa requirements. So picking out one profession says very little about immigration besides the fact more non Irish citizens are pursuing those jobs.
Think more than anything that the popularity of Trump style rhetoric is high and certain outlets and individuals take advantage of that. They use such groups as fall guys for larger scale issues that often just amounts to the state failing at things like decentralisation, housing and health care.
Sure ask Melania. The second Putin gets pregnant Donnie is just going to move on to the next one.
(Sorry, couldn’t help myself)
Nothing that Donald says is durable as there are so many holes and inconsistencies in his various proclamations
Donald Trump’s mother came from the village of Tong very close to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. It’s strange to think that a lovely unspoilt island like that is the Scottish family homestead.
Well for sure. Hell, if Donnie came on here and declared that «today is Wednesday», I’d feel inclined to check to make sure. And if by some fluke he had managed to say such a thing on an actual Wednesday, I’d wonder if he thought it was actually a Tuesday and used this lie on the wrong day.
Thus is Donnie’s relationship with the truth. His procomations are entirely a hole of mistruth peppered with very occasional true things….such as his name….and little else.
Also we says Maths in Ireland not Math, the latter is an American abbreviation
Actually you are dead right. The HSE was a sh1tshow before Ukraine or Gaza. Housing was a sh1tshow before them too.
And a typo for good measure! I am rocking it today aren't I?
Thats enough Boards. It's G&T time.
Now that's how you report on the guy
A hypothesis is just a basic "what if" - nothing more than that!
A hypothesis actually requires some informed background, it is an educated guess.
Any basic education of Trump's economic policies or the performance thereof in his first time would dispel you of your "hypothesis" that his policies were good for the economy.
Given the things Trump has said, I would presume his priority as President would be to fast track all his "revenge" policies and defer the economic stuff to whatever under-qualified MAGA Toadie got the nod. And given their and GOP types' proclivities you'd imagine all the good stats would get quickly undone.
If he wins again, I doubt that he'll be having people put in prison along the lines of the female president who was played by Elizabeth Marvel in "Homeland". Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett would never rule in favour of the type of action that is associated with the dictators that Trump admires.
Both appointees also said Roe was settled law.
Given his insistence throughout his presidency and since, by both he and his adherents, I'd not put anything past Trump 2.0 as a means to revenge upon those he felt slighted by. Prison is not possible cos the President can't just throw people in jail but there are ways to fúck with the system that doesn't involve jail time. And as for his SC picks, they said that Roe v Wade was "settled law" so not gonna take anything they say as gospel.
Then there's the small matter of the Project 2025 project and it's intended result of a functioning autocracy. Trump would get behind that.
Quite the "Susan Collins" post...
The thought that the US will turn into a real-life Gilead is quite melodramatic. Most American conservative Christians could not be in favour of getting rid of the US Constitution because causing harm to innocent people goes against the grain of Christianity. As for the overturning of Roe V Wade, it's important to remember that the Constitution does not contain any reference to abortion, i.e. judicial interpretation of the Constitution.
I'll sum it up for you: this is the United States, not the Weimar Republic!
Just this week Alabama's Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos were to be counted as children, opening up a case of "wrongful death" against an IVF clinic that accidentally destroyed some embryos. And to be clear, destroying embryos is part and parcel of the IVF process so this isn't just some oddity but could have serious repercussions for IVF in Alabama and further if other states take cues. The conservative agenda there decided that jizz and some eggs mixed together was a child. Melodrama sailed a long time ago with the American Right.
So no, I don't think it's melodramatic as it's precisely what the purpose of Roe V. Wade's dismantling was to start the ball on: at best a "stateist" agenda to defer back to each individual states' wishes - at worst a clear decision to remove liberalisation on a key issue that th eAmerica christian right see as a pillar of their entire agenda.
As to what's in the Constitution: there's a great deal of things NOT in the constitution given it was written in 1787: which is why you either have amendments - which seems to have ground ot a halt thanks to the "originalist" movement - or you have Supreme Court cases like Roe v. Wade adding context to issues clearly beyond the text of a near 250 year old document. By and large polls show abortion is supported by most Americans, albeit slanting very significantly between democrat and republican voters - but the majority exists all the same.
Support for abortion strong, and runs counter to the decisions made by the SC:
empty green stated after the midterms that they would go and stay after the bidens until nov 24 election to try and win it
Easy to get around not causing harm to innocent as you simply claim they are not innocent. Like woman getting abortions, or trans people etc.
History is littered with examples of Christians causing harm. There is always a justification.
As for the constitution Trump has already attempted to overturn it and has stated that he is prepared to go against the constitution so why anyone would not think that if he actually had the power he wouldn't follow through is hard to understand.
Evangelicals in the states spport Israel for one reason and it is due to the simple fact that they believe its existence will bring about the end of days.
Apart from this they believe Jews in America are, like Catholics, tools os Satan and they are out to replace them.
The thought that the US will turn into a real-life Gilead is quite melodramatic.
wake up
That was Trumps doing. A rapist himself, he ensured that rapists get to choose the mother of their children.
Wait till you read the ruling which uses biblical theology to justify itself. The Chief Justice was also on a Qanon podcast this week peddling his beliefs in the Seven Mountains conspiracy
Christianity itself still opposes the use of violence except in defence of one's own life and/or or the lives of others. By the way, not liking people's sexuality or gender identity or other aspects of their lifestyles doesn't necessarily mean wanting to cause harm to them.
Strange that Republicans tend to be Pro death penalty and Anti abortion at the same time.
