Ha very true. I hope your right tho in regards to them, could cause Ukraine a whole lot of pain if they work and function 100% as there intended to.
Ukraine is f**ked once the Don gets in. All the billions wasted with feck all to show for it, Rand Paul was right.
There is probably a modern derivative of Hanlon's Razor which says something along the lines of "never ascribe to malice what can be attributed to an overactive bot". In sure it wouldn't take much for anti Navalny forces to mass-report the account and trigger something.
I can't imagine it will be any more a game changer than anything else which has shown up in Ukraine on either side the last two years. I'm sure it'll work more or less as advertised, in the limited numbers it is available, and constrained by the ability of the Army to acquire targets and effectively call for fire.
With russia getting the upper hand, if the US do supply arms are they going to be of a higher quality ? Longer range ? More lethal ? Ukraine need more even if it’s just to level the playing field/stop russian progress
Thanks for that your probably on the money with that 1. What's your take on the state of Ukrainian forces after adviika withdrawal? Seems they were lucky with getting the majority of their forces out but might of lost about 850 to 1000 captured, killed or MIA (lucky as could of been up to 5k of troops captured if Ukraine could not held up escape route). There crack troops were sent in to hold the escape route but I'm sure would of had heavy losses as well. I know Russia did as well but just seems Ukraine had an extremely bad time of it and was very fast at the end. Seems soldiers on the ground said that the leadership left it too late for withdrawal and some units weren't informed until last moment.
Big hit
on Russian forces. I still don't get why either side would do something like this within 100km of the frontlines.
I'd speculate a mixture of hubris and contempt for the wellbeing of your own soldiers. Maybe even recent "successes" gave the Russian brass a mistaken belief they're on the ascendancy and Ukrainian collapse days away.
As with the drones simply wandering into warehouses stocked with tanks, or recent losses of aircraft, I do question about Russia's defensive structures ATM cos the efficacy of meatgrinder tactics aside, there seems little protection of their forces either.
Yeah it's a good thing for Ukraine that Russia is not doing better in regards to that. It's not like they have to do much either but don't seem to be willing to do it.
Might just be that their military doctrine downplays the defence of ones assets - but could also be a mixture of that, a potential brain-drain in the logistics class of the frontlines (cos they're all fertiliser now), and simply not having the equipment anymore. Can't protect against drones and missiles if your AA is now scrap.
Fair play indeed. Its easy for all of us to hide behind anonymous accounts online and bang away our expert opinions at our keyboards, but as always, whether here, in Moscow today or in Kyiv 20 years ago, its people on the streets that ultimately make the difference.
"Sources say the Russian embassy provided free tea for the protesters during todays windy and gloomy weather..."
Himars time again.
Definetly Ukraine has a death star, or some equivalent.
I hope - assume- that the embassy tea is a different BRAND to that supplied in Moscow.?
Putin's Tea! No thanks..
Windy and Gloomy is a strange way to describe the ambassador
DON'T DRINK THE TEEAAAA!!!! (someone insert Star Wars 'it's a trap' gif)
Haha
There have been numerous "game changing" weapons over the last couple of years for both sides, and look, we're still here, lots of death and suffering but little territorial change. Doubt this will prove decisive either. One side gets a new toy, the other side adapts, civilians and soldiers die, top brass (mostly) live on
I see Filatov was carpeted by the DFA..
Not the Russian top brass..
In Russia the only real top brass is Putin and his insider circle of criminals. Everyone else, including generals (yes, a few have fallen), is seen as dispensable
Interesting and disconcerting survey about European views on the war after 2 years. A bit odd that the Baltic States aren't included, but even in Poland the figures are revealing. These opinions matter and will matter even more if US military support recedes and Ukraine's weapons supply depends mostly on Europe. Perhaps most depressing is the amount of people who don't care or have any opinion on the conflict now:
Ah well, Gerasimov is suspiciously absent after Ukraine's claims of his termination. He was a top brass.
'Considering defeat' is half way there. Great comfort to Putin.
