EI-EDP is being rolled out of paint tomorrow with another aircraft positioning down instead for re paint this week.
Lots of aircraft being repainted this winter
Who are EI operating ORK - VRN for at the moment. I didn't even know such a flight existed but just spotted it as EI4800 in FR24 and it seems to have operated on Sundays for the past number of weeks.
Think it's for the ski package holidays no ?
Think its only taking 4-5 days at a time so they could probably have most done this year if it's literally one after the other.
EI-EDP flew to Shannon on the 12th and is (believed to be) returning on the 19th - that's a full week when it is unavailable for reveue service.
How many aircraft are left to be repainted and what registrations?
We're in the off season. There are plenty of airframes to cover the schedule. There's a reason the repaints are being done now.
To add to this, They have all been positioning to Shannon every Monday so it is taking 7 days to do and EDP will be rolled out tomorrow. Its scheduled to.
I must admit I’ve lost track since the repaints ramped up this winter but here goes…
A320:
EI-CVC, DVE, DVG, DVH, DVI, FNJ, GAL, DEG, DER and DEM.
A330-200:
EI-DAA, GEY and DUO.
A330-300:
EI-DUZ, EAV, FNH, FNG, GAJ and GCF.
Theres still one or two Emerald ATRs in the old livery too.
Ah well at least they're in the quite season so.......
GEY will either be last or never done as I believe it was painted in green in 2018 (?).
DAA is a hard one to tell if it'll be done as it's just come back from BOD and supposedly had a D check. If all went well with it's D check then it could still be around for a few more years and also taking into account it was parked up. Next month it will be 23 years flying.
DUO I reckon may see the new livery imo.
It's for a number of Cork school's for ski holiday - last one was today.
As far as I could tell DAA was sitting on the remote parking near the fire station this week, still in its old livery upon return from BOD.
It flew ORD yesterday. Some of the 330s lately have sat around for days without moving.
10 a320 left in old livery cvc more likely won't be done as its to old now so 9 left to do which would take 9 weeks and it be in the summer seclude so I say it be next winter before they are all done a320 anyway
When will the other A333s be repainted? A332s seem unlikely
It was meant to happen this jan/feb/mar but due to overruns on the heavy mx on the rest of the 330s it's probably been scrubbed off the table..
EI-DEG is going to Shannon today for repaint
Have a friend traveling to MCI via IAD and told him about the flights I booked to ACE with the biz class seats, He saw something about making a bid for an upgrade any ideas on how much they need to bid for a seat?
Impossible to say - might be irrelevant if business class sells out or if loads of empty seats it could be cheaper. Think minimum is €400
I have heard minimum is 400 as well.
Ok thanks will let him know.
It's rule based sales. Often no seats will be offered even if available otherwise it would damage bookings if passengers knew they were available for bid.
First production A321XLR recorded in Hamburg.
I used to bid a lot on atlantic flights, never once did I get it at 400 but a couple of times I got it at 550.
Anyone having any issues with the Aer Lingus booking engine lately?
I did a dummy booking for April 9 - 12 to NYC. I can get a direct flight out (three options) but coming back the only options are to connect through Manchester or London on the way back. When I try the same booking through Kayak the direct flights are there on the way home and if I access the Aer Lingus webiste through Kayak I am all good.
booking on their website for those days shows me the directs 105 out and the 104 back, as expected for those exact dates from Dublin-NYC and return ? What does it give you if you use an Incognito window
Cheers. Will try that. May be a cookie issue.
It's a big undertaking, especially for engineering. The workload on EI will be largely influenced by any teething problems with the aircraft. Time will tell how it pans out given all the engineering exits in last few years.
Looks like ei dej has had problems leaving madrid after maintenance it had to return to madrid
Ei nsc on route to lanzaorte good to see it going somewhere different
It did DUB BER this morning as well. LRE and LRA 321 neo have covered DUB LHR today instead. LRA will also overnight in LHR.
The TA schedule isnt fully back yet so it allows the 321 neo to help cover the schedule ex DUB.
