Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Would have been gas all the same if he played here to see the reaction.. ;)
Do we know when the PJ tickets will go on sale?
I've registered but all it says is "You'll receive an email the day before tickets go on sale telling you if you were selected to get access to the sale or waitlisted. If you're selected, you'll get a unique access code to use for the sale. If waitlisted, please keep an eye on your email, you may be contacted later if any tickets remain."
I'm away for a few days & don't want to miss the sale day.
Thanks
I'd say the public sale will be Friday 23rd, after the Ten Club tickets have been dealt with. Ten Club applicants are due to hear by February 21st.
You'll be notified of waitlist or not on Thursday the 22nd and on sale on Friday the 23rd

If I've moved up that end of country by then this is a definite show
As I said a few days ago
An overreach? Surely they’d need an impressive support act to fill that venue.
Yeah would be surprised if it’s even 1/3 full.
€41 ticket price
Shame, I really like Singular Artists as a promoter, hope this doesn't burn them too much
I've not heard anyone mention Gossip for aaaaages though, such an odd one. Can't even remember the last time I heard Standing In The Way Of Control on the radio, never mind anything else. Seems way more than a misjudgement, it seems absolutely bonkers. No support announcement either
I'd have agreed up until recently but they have started to put out new music and it's decent. Rick Rubin is producing some of their stuff. Only time will tell if new material be enough to sell tickets
Seems an odd one to me too but maybe by time August comes around there might be some interest. Weather usually decent then and most gigs happen in June and July so might be more of a buzz by then.
Shania Twain in Belfast now sold out!
Meh. That don't impress me much.
😁
Had to be said! 😀
I still can't get my head around DIIV playing Vicar Street. Then charging almost €40 a ticket! Surely that's a big misjudgement? I'd have placed them at Whelans level, or Button Factory at the very most. I was surprised when they were so high up the bill at ATN so maybe they're another tiktok beneficiary? Baffling to me anyway.
Standing in.. is an old song, their new stuff is regularly played on decent radio stations, so that wouldn't be any Irish FM ones anyway.
If you're a fan of anything not mainstream then you'll hear them often enough.
Does anyone know how much standing tickets for smashing pumpkins are face value? I'm seeing 180 for resale on Ticketmaster.
€83
New poster but just to say, seen Deadletter in The Workmans Celler a while back. Unbelievable gig. Kind of like Idles meets Viagra Boys (minus the synth). Nerves were supporting it. Not my cup of tea but seriously impressive musicianship from the three lads.
Anyone catch The Bug Club last weekend? I couldn’t go.
Tempted to go see Beach Fossils but unsure Shoegaze translates well to the stage. As an aside, can see Mac DeMarco doing an arena tour in the fall/early next year.
I haven't heard from Gossip for ages... so I only like mainstream music and listen to Irish FM stations...?
You know that's exactly what I didn't say.
BBC Radio 6 (and Radio 2 in the evenings), Radio X, and I may have even heard on the specialist shows on RTE, are regularly playing their first single from their new album. You don't have to go looking for their stuff.
It's been over 10 years since they last release an album so using Standing in the way of control as a gauge to their popularity is hardly going to be accurate.
Decent radio stations like RTE 2fm?
Dynamic Pricing in effect for the AC/DC gig. So scummy.
I listen to BBC6 daily plus some US and Kiwi indie radio and never hear anything new-ish by The Gossip. Am I missing out and do you have anything to recommend? If they have a good support act I’d happily go along as €41 is great value for an outdoor Summer gig.
Nerves are an acquired taste but very impressive, seen them supporting Sprints and later doing their own gig at The Loft in Galway. Expect more from them in 2024/25 as it’s time for a debut album.
OK, that is how I read it, but all good 🙂
I mostly listen to 6music and genuinely haven't heard it played. I have now, of course, as the announcement piqued my interest so I sought it out. Saw them in Glastonbury back in the day and they were cracking live. I just don't see them selling out the barracks (and I'm not trying to do them down, I hope I'm wrong), they need to attract more casual fans to do that
Well you can thank Noel Rock and Leo for allowing Ticketmaster have carte blanche now.
I did say you hear them on specialist shows in the evening on RTE in the post before yours.
That's outrageous
Surely the bubble has to burst, doesn't it? The government was all for stopping touting but if anything this is worse
There is no band on earth I’d pay over 300 to see - very few I’d even break 100 for
bit if people are going to pay it it’s going to keep happening
a past it heritage band in a venue with shite sound-would struggle to justify 90 euro myself
