That Graham Walker 2020 AWD in black was for sale private two weeks ago 31k asking so that was a ballpark price if for 30k, and in line with new pricing. Now asking 34k...
Personally, I love the acceleration on the older NMC SR+ with 980 motor and can't bring myself to swap it for slower now, so from here it's LR or nowt. I might snap one up if in a colour I like (black, msm, blue), but of course the SR+ itself is taking a beating now due to M3H buyers dumping their old models on DD at the same time.
For credibility & more context: the dealer in question works with Finance Ireland Motor & Leasing who do a lot of the finance on behalf of Tesla... it is they who will be adjusting their second hand AWD pricing in the coming months. These will likely be 2021 models which were bought by businesses on 3 year leases, some 2020 AWD models on 4 year leases too. Circa €30k, from a dealer, that's the kind of number I've heard. If you're considering a second hand AWD I'd be tempted to hold fire until the summer & track this to see if it materialises... but then again life is short etc etc 😉
It’s a personal decision to make. But when i her out of the RWD, I do state that “I wish it had a bit of poke” but that’s because I’ve had 3 performance models.
I kinda ignore the cost personally as over the years I could have saved a fortune by buying the 2.0d instead of the S3, or the 20d instead of the 35d, or the 40d instead of the M50d. Feck it.
I'm very close to pulling trigger on a LR. Have driven a couple of std versions and one with acceleration boost activated which had a nice bit of additional poke. Up to now I've stayed away from M3P but one has come up near me and I'm tempted to take it for a test drive. The one concern I have is with the 20" wheels as I live on rural roads with potholes galore. Am I likely to have issues with the 20" wheels and would I be better off with LR with 18" wheels.
Specifically regarding wheels the differences are that some regard the look of 20" as nicer but the negatives are a firmer ride, lower range and more expensive to replace. But if its a used car you may not have a choice if you want the car and changing to smaller wheels will be costly/hassle. It all comes down to personal choice
The 20” wheels are fine but on normal roads. I’d fear rural roads would taint your experience.
You could get the P and change to 18” or 19” wheels for comfort. You’ll then sell the P 20” wheels easily enough I’d imagine.
I have the standard 18”wheels on my Rwd. But I did recently drive a LR with the 19” wheels. I thought they handled the very bad roads I tested the car on better than mine.
Yes I like the look of the 19" wheels and think they are a better option that the 20" on rural roads. Have hit a couple of bad potholes recently on dark wet rural roads around me. Could have been a very expensive experience on those 20"
Hi all, anyone had a recent experience with Tesla Mobile Service for Tire Rotation? I’m at 10k mark on my MY. This is my first time servicing anything for the car. The quote for the mobile service is at €90. I’m not too sure if this is ok or too much for the job.
A few months back this cost 54
Prices gone up to 42.9 for M3 rwd 😔
The price is still showing as €41,832 in the website.
You need to engage with the "cash price" option on the lower center of the screen pop up to see the proper cost
Saw my first highland today going northbound on the M1 just south of junction 14. Greyish in colour with a Louth reg plate. I just knew coming up from behind it was a highland when I saw the 241 plate. A lovely looking car :)
Was the indicator flashing the whole time? 🤣
I don't think so :)
The wife couldn't work out what was wrong with me with the sudden burst of excitement when I saw the headlights lol.
A tyre shop would rotate them for around €20 to €25.
On a side note, why do people bother with the tyre rotation? Wouldn’t it be more cost efficient to just replace the front tyres when they are worn, and replace the rear tyres when they are worn. Rotating tyres at 10,000km seems so pointless.
Yeah, never rotated
changed rears at 30,000
changed all 4 at 57,000
changed rears again last week at 90,000km
suspect I’ll need another full set by 120,000km..
I don’t rotate in my BMW (because I can’t), and I ain’t doing it in my Tesla.
I think tyre rotation is more of an American thing, you can go into any tyre shop and they will rotate your tyres for free. Seems to be common over there.
I mean I get the idea, you rotate the tyres so that you can postpone replacing just two of the them and instead you replace all 4 of them at once, but if you have to pay for the rotation it just seems like false economy really.
For al the part time audiophiles on here - the Highland RWD sound system does not disappoint!
Was worried with the sound system being a selling point for the LR that the standard version would be sub-par - not at all!
Has a lovely bass and added bonus, at high volume the doors don’t don’t rattle 😉
On a side note - the smooth suspension and noise isolation on **** country roads took me by surprise - completely outshines my previous BMW 5 series. There’s a real premium feel to this car - loaded with features … good bang for buck!
Also … delighted with the choice of red … just hope it doesn’t turn a shade of pink when it gets muddy 😀
Does Tesla Sandyford have any M3H for test drive yet?
Yes. I had a test drive in the red RWD they also have a LR highland.
I test drove the red last week and agree with all you say.
I'm ordering a white next week. I can't justify an extra 3k for the red. Although it's a lovely colour, 3k is a rip-off for a change of colour.
Tesla don't charge 3k for the change of colour though.
Who's paying to move tyres from front to back to people not have Jack's anymore.
Tyre rotation is very smart and sensible on vehicles that have more wear on an axle than the other.
Who is jacking up their cars and rotating tyres at home? Unless you have two trolley jacks and an impact gun its long and tiresome job. Good luck doing it with a scissor jack and a wrench.
And all cars have tyres that wear unevenly on each axle. What is so smart and sensible about rotating?
Why would they have more wear on one axle? I thought teslas have even weight distribution.
Drive axel !
Anyone with an ounce of mechanical abilities. I've been rotating tyres on all my vehicles for 20 plus years.. .
Who said this is a US thing?...
People are getting further and further from basic function these days.
It costs the purchaser 3k extra. Tesla set the price.
