Inherited 80 fragmented ones here and 20 scrub or forestry acres. I don't think I'll ever be full-time but it's a fantastic security to be lucky enough to own..anyway as long as the boss man is alive it's his as far as I'm concerned.
Plumber is what my line of work would be in the big smoke dublin.Id wouldnt bother farming 80 acres id set it to the highest bidder and have a yearly rental auction on the farm so boys could bid like mad.
Sure the woman could labour on you. Be a great job.
I bought land cus it was cheap i could be milking 3 times the number of cows i have and have a heap of muppets working for me but im content with my lot .Cant understand the logic in renting land above 100 euro acre. All your doing is being a busy fool.I admit at 100 acre it makesense above that firget about it.
Im still laughing whelan like the dealers fleecing for cull cows and calves
Man, you are so full of brown stuff ya must have been delighted when the slurry ban lifted. You look down your nose at anyone and everyone here, preach about how great ya are at this, that and the other. Anyone looking for advice is told to rent the place out, while anyone that does rent are told they are greedy.
There isn't a fear you'd be a plumber. If you hadn't been handed whatever you got along with that silver spoon up yer hole, you'd be bolloxing around the place doing SFA
doesn’t change your logic that taking extra land is greed.
Whether it’s bought or rented it’s still increasing your farming area.
im able to be a full time farmer by renting extra land. If I only farmed what we owned I wouldn’t be
Better to buy the money used for rent wud take a fair sting out of annual land loan repyaments i know ud have to add a bit allot of land is making 10 to 15k u never c the poor prices highlighted as its not gd for auctionners rep if there selling cheap. They like to talk up the market. All the land i bought never made it to a paper.
There is plenty being sold at less than 10k/acre. Across the road from me, 65 acres went for 550k. All in grass. Wouldn't be level and would have some flooding on about 4 acres beside the river in winter. Grows great grass and was all in paddocks from the dairy man who had it the last 30 odd years
And you'd still be a tool..80 acres reared and educated a lot of people in this country and still does.. if I could swap my little bit for your ranch but I had to live a bitter little life like you, I'd rather be on the street!!
Many an 80 acre farm produced doctors nurses teachers solicitors an air hostess(ex professional ballet dancer) and 3 sons who are farmers
I honestly don't understand why everyone still engages with that windup merchant
Me neither as Mahoney said we are probably just tired and cranky.
Depends what part of the country you’re in. Land is crazy money here in Cork and it’s not much use if it’s no nearby. Life’s to short for travelling to land any more than a few miles away.
This is it exactly, it’s a troll account and a quick scan through previous posts will show that as I remember contradictions on different posts around farm size and stock no’s etc.
Im not bitter at all why would i be bitter ivevno debt big dairy farm huge net worth
Im no troll people on here dont like to hear the truth renting land in todays market is a waste of time. Its like summer grazers buying cattle in spring regardless of price just to havr them one lad outbidding the next pushing prices on.
You’ve already been shown that even renting at 400 an acre makes seven times more profit than buying land
sometimes it’s easier to swallow your pride than make a fool of yourself
Noticed that also, lf he wasn't engaged with he'd get bored quickly. I hope he's a troll anyways, It'd be a grim existence to walk around with that mindset every day
What will happen to your farm if you loose all ur rented ground i asked u before but u never answered.Theres a reason people buy land if u buy at right time like me you cud have made a fortune.

No, I guess you were one of the scabs that bought off recievers.
For ur infirmation they were developers or ex .Lads who drove land to 20 30k big greedy men bought land as as a hobby.
Was looking at the glanbia super 6. It's never 6 products but that's another point. They've good buckets on offer. 3 types. None of which are in stock.
Thank god the big dairy man was able to swoop in and rescue the land from them so cheap and not in anyway being greedy lol….
How many cows does a big dairy man have calved in this weather anyway? I challenge you to post a pic of just one calf here I suspect we’ll be waiting……🤣
Is the pressure getting to you Alps😀
And what makes you think that everything you say and do is the truth and the right way to do things but everything everyone else says and does is lies and the wrong way?
You've never put up anything here to prove your theories or to show how you’re putting them into practice. No pictures of your “big dairy farm”, no documentation showing any info on your cows or their performance, nothing only big words from a big man. It’s why no one here is taking you seriously.
If I’m wrong then I apologise for calling you a troll but why don’t you prove me wrong? I’m a beef farmer and I’ve been questioned about things I was saying and advice I was giving in the beef thread so my response was to put up factory dockets from my stock showing the info that I was questioned on to prove I wasn’t telling lies. Why don’t you do the same?
In our discussion group we worked out that paying €450 an acre is just breakeven, as in you will not be paid for the extra labour it will involve. In other words a busy fool. So your calculations are not applicable to the average farmer. Also buying land does put good discipline on you to meet the repayments. You might be making good profit on leased ground but some lads might spend it on fancy gear that will be long gone when the land is still appreciating in value.
Because farming simulator doesn't produce co-op reports 😅
They had a good 20 litre green bucket last year. Went into the local store yesterday and they were well stocked with buckets. Green, black and blue. The green bucket has become 16 litres from 20 last year and only half the amount of plastic. Thought the "builders" black bucket at just over 16 litres they had in stock may be somewhat comparable. Brought two home and they are like children's beach buckets compared to the green buckets from last year.
