Twitter seems to be having a bit of a meltdown about this today with all sorts of crazy rumours going around.

A YouTube channel called 'warhog defence' is one of the best ways to get saw footage/news from the war, it also shows the insane sh1t the Russian state media puts out the general gist of which is reasons they should nuke European countries
What do both of you think russia should do to end the war/special military operation in Ukraine?
(though I see one has already abandoned thread as per usual).
What kind of a ridiculous question is this....
How do you think it should end? WW3?
(If you are referring to me, i said I'm out debating with a person who thinks Russia could invade Ireland)
So let's just clarify something. Russia are committing genocide ATM. Russia is pushing for the US etc to stop backing Ukraine. Putin has promised the war will be over in a few weeks if that's done, that's the overall "peaceful" solution that he has offered. Nothing to do with withdrawing, it's more exterminating.
This is what posters view as the solution....
Who is viewing what as a solution? Why are you directing that at me?
Wanna clarify if you believe Russia has committed genocide? I asked earlier but you refrained from answering.
It's a war...I've no doubt terrifying and illegal acts are being inflicted on innocent people...no doubt at all!
You poor thing.
LOL...Come on tell us what you really thought of it! Surely you are off the clock now?
Putin could end the conflict in the next 5 minutes. Just give the order and bring their troops back to Russia. He doesn’t need the US or the EU or anyone to stop doing anything to end it.
He does need other countries to stop funding Ukraine to successfully steal their territory, though.
After reading the last three pages here one thing is becoming very obvious very quickly. Nobody here actually watched or listened or even read the transcript of that interview. Just went to their preferred echo chamber online source who told them what to make/think of it. And then come here and have a good 'informed' chuckle over 'Adolf Putin' with like minded folks.
Its a bit pathetic though isnt it?
We don't need an echo chamber to know a murderous, fascist invasion is wrong. You on the other hand? Putin admitted it last night so the game is up for your like. According to him there is no such thing as Ukraine, it has no autonomy.
You are a sheep to your misonformers.
How do you know he admitted 'something' last night? Did you watch it? Or did someone tell you he did?
And how do you know what 'like' I am? I was just commenting on the uninformed bias here. I didnt say anything about Putin or Russia.
You 'independent thinkers' are a trial
I know. Imagine looking at something and forming your own opinion! Should be illegal really.
Much better to not look at something and strongly parrot someone else's opinion.
"According to him there is no such thing as Ukraine, it has no autonomy."
Finally we're getting somewhere.
It's why you give both sides a voice and let people make up their own but that's not how the western media works, they just tell us Ukraine is good and Russia is bad. Personally I think they are both as bad as eachother, this could have all been avoided before it even got to this stage but Putin won't back down and Zelensky is just a puppet. This is will probably just roll on for years to come and get nowhere
One country invades another and meets resistance, so they’re both as bad as eachother? Come on.
Except Ukraines secession was recognised by the Soviet Union, so it demonstrably exists as a sovereign state, and no amount of historical waffling from Putin changes that.
It's an odd argument you have there.
Firstly, if you were to hold people to the standard you are suggesting then 99.999% of people wouldn't be able to hold an opinion on anything because most people don't have hours free to sit down and watch political speeches. Nearly everyone relies on journalists to pare down speeches to the relevant points. Some might check out larger parts of a speech just to add context but that's as far as it normally goes.
Secondly, it's safe to say that someone like Putin is not going to be saying anything that doesn't benefit him directly. Especially when he himself gets to set the rules that he plays by. Nobody in his own country can hold him to account so the chances that someone like Tucker Carlson would be able to is absurd. Putin isn't doing this to enlighten, he's doing it to cast doubt.
Ukraine was granted status as a sovereign state on condition they don't go after nukes and don't join NATO. And what did they do? Like a moth to a flame this is exactly what they did. Check what Zelensky was saying in the months before Russia attacked.

They also were continually shelling the Donbas region which contained ethnic Russians, ie. their own civilians.
Ukraine FA a lot and they FO a lot. Russia could also have had it all ended within 2 weeks if it wasn't for intervention from abroad to prolong the suffering.
You haven't given us a single opinion, just vaguely painting yourself as having some kind of intellectual heft. Give us just 3 bullet points of info so.
One country invades another and meets resistance, so they’re both as bad as each other? Come on.
Is it an 'invasion' in the traditional sense though from a Russian point-of-view? The immediate regions Russia crossed into were already majority Russian - as in the peoples living in the Donbass and Luhansk regions mostly self identified as Russian by magnitude of in excess of 90%. When the US/NATO sponsored a shaky coup/election/overthrow back in 2014 the stage was already set for conflict. Very little if any media coverage is out there regarding the pro-west Ukranian treatment of Russian people in Donbass and Luhansk. Those Russian peoples even seeked semi-autonomy within a Ukranian state but were denied. Many are forgetting that Nationhood is only a new phenomenon within the former Soviet Union. Luhansk and Donbass looked at how Moldova, Georgia, and others formed. Why shouldn't they follow the same road?
The Soviet Union never held borders let alone Nationality in any semblance of regard. Semi-autonomous Ukraine firmly under the old USSR was a mere illusion!
There is absolutely zero information coming out of Russia or with regards to the war that isnt being created or filtered by western agencies and media. Western or Ukrainian politicians, 'experts' and journalists is all we get. The odd bit of Russian voice or commentary comes in heavily commented snippets along with clear instructions how to consume them.
The EU made doubly sure of that when RT got thrown out of satellite broadcasting and DNS banned. Listening to 'the other side' became virtually impossible overnight. Since censorship isnt really in line with our western values they call it 'fight against misinformation'.
Here was an opportunity to get some unfiltered information, an opportunity to listen to their propaganda for a change.
Not saying its a must or it should be taken at face value or might rock anyones belief system. But I would have thought at least when discussing the media event itself some direct contact would have been useful.
So seeing as you now have access to this unfiltered information, did he actually say anything that hasn't already been reported in our propaganda laden western press? Preferably something that's actually true.
@animalinside and @lbunnae both threadbanned
What are the instructions for consumption?
Boris Johnson refutes claims he torpedoed the Istanbul agreement. Quite amazing how many people seem to be in the dark about this given it has been out there for a good while.
I guess the part about Germany having the right to invade Poland was something new from Putin. But everything seems to have been stuff that he's been saying for years that has been reported.
Thing is, it's been a misrepresentation that's been going around for years. He warned against trusting Russia but the decision was always with Ukraine. I loath Boris but he wasn't wrong in this case. He didn't prevent them from doing anything.
Pretty telling that this is your first appearance in the thread since the interview aired. No comment on Putin saying Germany was justified in invading Poland during ww2? Wanna point to any new piece of information that hasn't been out since the start of the war? Something material that justifies invasion for example.
Remember Prigozin exposed the lies and nonsense about the “shelling” in the Donbass?
Where is he now? How people still fall for Putin and his cronies lies is mind boggling but also worrying.
Its Germany in the 1930s all over again.
How do you know what went on, sounds like deal was very close according to the mediator
