What colour was it ?
Blue
Does anyone have any idea how long this revenue issue could persist? Considering switching to a different car.
Will definitely be sorted before the end of March because Tesla will want everything sold by end of Q1. Last year when this happened it dragged out for a few weeks also, but less than a month afair. It was never fully clarified whether it was a delay on the revenue side or if Tesla weren't providing the data in the correct format.
My advice would be to tough it out; what car would you switch to?
Spoke to Tesla yesterday on a different query and mentioned they must be getting a lot of calls due to the Revenue issue and she said they were expecting it to be solved within 24 hours.
Im taking it with a pinch of salt as something else could crop up but she said they were planning to start sending out texts for collection early next week
Thanks josip.
I phoned Tesla while you replied and for everyone's "benefit" what I have been told is that it should be sorted "asap", when I queried this a little further they said that the response time of Revenue has almost expired so they expect this resolved in the next day or two and deliveries to commence next week.
Here is hoping.
My EDD is now showing Apr-May 2024. (deposit paid on Nov 23 for a M3H) ðŸ˜
What was it before?
Ditto, wife ordered mid Nov (red paint/white interior/long range). Never got vin and moved from Jan/Feb to Feb/Mar and today Apr/May...not good as sold older M3 in Dec & struggling with the one car between us.
If there were other highland options available would grab it but that's unlikely.
In case it helps, these are our key dates from last year. The backstory is that there were very few LRs on the Q1 boat, so they weren't able to meet their initial optimistic predictions and it slipped to the Q2 shipment. It may or may not be similar with the M3H.
Looks like there is a white highland RWD in inventory ready for pick up!
I spoke to the Tesla rep he said it’s not in the country yet but will be on the 28th Feb.
Could be UK registered like they done with the MY.
EDD' s been known to change and then change back again as quickly...don't lose hope
someone replied to this and confirmed it is Irish registered
Dublin have a red one registered for test driving.
Yes that came only recently too I think. They e had a LHD in the show room for some time now.
LHD still there in the showroom. Test drive one only registered on Tuesday I was told - had only 95km on the ODO when I took her for a spin.
Can anyone understand why there would be revenue issues with the M3H?
The pricing has not changed for the M3H.
Last year the revenue issues were related to price reductions, which was more understandable.
It's very strange that Tesla keep running into this same issue while other car dealers don't experience it at all. I know that for a fact, because I worked in the industry for long enough.
Don’t think it’s a revenue issue. It’s incompetence on Tesla’s part
eeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk.....May
Thinking go look at Seal
I think it's all down to Tesla's Irish sales being ran out of the UK. They don't keep the experience of how to work with revenue like the rest of the brands who partner with an Irish distributor.
Every time Tesla change the price of the car, the revenue stat code has to be changed so revenue get the correct payments from vat, VRT, etc
If they use an old stat code then the figure is wrong. It’s the same stat code you get when getting a VRT quote or at least the dealer / industry equivalent of it.
It’s not just Tesla. BYD were having issues too.
Last year Kia had major issues as the stat code didn’t reflect the newer shape, different pricing between the K3 and K4 models. Hence 100’s of Kia’s set in the lot for 2 months waiting on registration.
Maybe it doesn’t help that Tesla treat us loosely as part of the uk too but you’d think the background team would be on by now considering they have registered 1000’s of cars already so I don’t think that’s the issue here.
I paid my deposit 2/12/23. Haven't heard anything since.
Can anyone confirm the cars are in the country? If they are, mine should be in that allocation , would ye think?
Can't wait till May. Good Lady wife is car less now. She won't drive mine as it's a manual and too big.
Even if they confirmed a DD I could hire something for a month to get by.
Have you got a VIN number assigned?
Just got the full ‘run down’ on the issues facing M3H and MY deliveries.
They’re saying it is the generation of the new stat code is what’s delaying everything, as we already know.
For the M3H, apparently it’s taking them an age to generate a whole new code (doesn’t explain how some are already registered).
For the MY they are waiting for the OMSP to be amended to register the car.
They advised that if they registered the cars on the current Stat codes for the MY, the app wouldn’t let you schedule delivery as there would be an outstanding balance to be paid due to the difference in prices.
Monday/Tuesday is the deadline that Revenue have given them, so hopefully we will hear something before/by then.
Each manufacturer in the Irish market supplies revenue with all the information for new models coming into the market that haven't been sold here before.
This means that dealers can register cars from the 1st day of the year through the revenue portal by selecting the model of car.
BYD's issue related to their pricing through the European distribution, it wasn't a revenue issue.
There are brand new models launched, and registered at the start, or middle of every year without any issues.
For some reason Tesla seem to experience this issue constantly.
It's incredibly unorganised, but the product sells itself, so we will all wait 😂
100%, the issue is that they didn't give revenue the information before the cars arrived.
The time wasted now could have been wasted while the cars were in transit.
I also don't understand how the price change causes such a delay with revenue. I can categorically say it does not with other brands. Again, I have worked in the industry, it's less complicated than some would have you believe
Defo feel this is a Tesla issue and its an easy out to say to us that the Revenue are holding things up, just dont buy it.
I've considered it. But what else is there in that range.
I know the BYD is there but I'm just not sure about it tbh.
There is zero doubt the Tesla is a fantastic car, and these are just the niggling issues of buying a Tesla.
We will all get our cars and I am sure it will be great when we do. I just wish we could avoid the frustration getting there.
