Has anyone signed up for The National Genotyping Programme with ICBF?
I'm in the SCEP scheme and I will be genotyping anyway under that. I see there is a FAQ document on ICBF.

It’s a scam. The Cormac sample bottles are tiny. Would easily fit into a standard envelope. Yet A Post want their cut too. FFS
I bought a load of books of Christmas stamps, think there was 2 free and the price hadnt gone up then there's an N on them. . Must check if the valentines stamp book is out yet

I was getting caught with the local post office 2 or 3 years ago - she maintained that the Christmas stamps were only worth €1 - I had to ring the GPO to get clarification that she was incorrect.
Once there's an N on them you're fine.
Was thinking there. Annual tb test due soon. Assuming these calves are not on the system they can't be tested?
Test if you want, vet will enter tag number into his husky regardless.

Ye had a chat with girl in post office today, doesn't matter what you paid for them once the N is on it. She weighed my envelope of 11 samples and said ordinarily that would be €2.40, but i sent them registered
You might be better off to bulk buying a roll or two of 100 N stamps, I did a few years ago, but this new set up will fairly deplete my supply.

Why bother registering? If they get lost they get lost and you will still have to resample!
To know they have arrived, last 2 batches are somewhere unknown
Got a text there they've received 1 sample, yipee. Was 2 samples in that envelope. Also the 13 samples that were in lab since before Christmas are all done today
I got my cards today for samples I sent away on 23 Jan 2024, so 8 days later. On ICBF calves are listed with "Sire Verified".
They now have 6 samples of mine....no bluecards yet for anything born in 2024
A lad from icbf rang me today. It was a long call. I have the receipt from registered post the other day and a photo of the envelope before I posted it. I forwarded these to him. Also samples missing from previous ones sent. He was very honest and is trying to sort it out.
If posting genotypes sample put your herd number and number of samples on envelope

Of course I dropped the insert from the yellow taggers. Just put in the white tags I'll have to buy another yellow taggers on Tuesday , fecking civil servants holiday.
I'm still with eurotags. Can you use the one taggers for both tags with cormac?

**** sake tagged the first batch of calves today..broke one of the new bvd bottles with the yellow tagger..seems you can can't use that anymore after reading the leaflet now..another simple thing that is getting more and more complicated..The bottles are flimsy anyway.
With the Cormac tags there is no messing, just one action with the tagger, the tag is on and the sample is in the bottle. Foolproof.
Will look into it for next year

Got first blue cards of the year today. First calf born January first still haven't his card. 1 sample posted in batch of 5 on 18th of January still missing
Of the first batch of 13 posted 3 weeks ago 6 have appeared on ICBF. They are adding them in dribs and drabs over the last 3 days. Posted another 18 the week after and no sign of them yet.
Any hope they just send you another button tag to get the DNA sample? They've obviously lost it at this stage.
Is the issue tag supplier related …seems to be a lot of disgruntled mullinahone customers waiting on results
Yeah, specially from the supplementary button tags it seems like. I have three of them to use before I move on to the new tags from them so hopefully they'll all work fine.
