Just shows you always need to be careful along the coasts especially during warnings and advisories.
this is pretty bad, hasn't rained in some parts in 3 years
I see they had 4 foot of snow in Nova Scotia recently.
Not extreme in the truest sense of the word, but I witnessed a double rainbow that lasted approx 40 mins yesterday 11th Feb. Sunny South East region.
The longest I've ever seen one last.
I think it would only fall into the extreme category if you found a crock of gold!
Well I did nearly rear end a Merc and someone else in front of me did actually crash looking at it.
So maybe it was on the extreme side after all.
Crazy 😧
….
What is this about? Don't we regularly reach 100% rH when it gets a bit drizzly?
I think it's more than likely due to a sudden change in temperature than anything else. In Guangzhou, southern China (where my wife used to live) I've seen this when the weather suddenly became hot and muggy after a cold spell in late February.
A string of days where the max barely reaches 8c to suddenly 25-30C with very high humidity in a matter of hours. Literally everything was dripping as they dont have heating to warm up the apartment when it gets cold so all the still cold surfaces meet the warm damp air which then condenses absolutely everywhere, it's a nightmare. Mould goes mental too.
Cool! Thanks @Supercell
Not sure if it fits here, but its pretty extreme all the same.
Apologies mods for going completely OT, but this is a nice collection of natural disasters during the Middle Ages, and how it was reported on in those times.
That YouTube channel is one of my favourites, a great watch, for those who are inclined.
It's insane isn't it? Do we know what's causing it? Does the reduction of S02 or wherever it is play a role? The Le Nino, C02, other things? It's odd…
Thing is this is sea surface temperature not the air temperature so its a lagging indicator, not sure how much El Nino plays a part, probably some but there are other El Nino's in the time period also and they didnt lead to madly above average sea surface temperatures like now. The raising temperatures and the increasing acidification of the sea are the conversation very few seem to be having. These are going to lead to less oxygen in the air which is a problem as we kind of need it to breath.
This is worse than warming alone, which is bad enough but many places will be relatively unaffected by that, but air is global, we all need it everywhere. Our children and grandchildren will be grappling with this issue.
That was at 8am yesterday, preceding the highest amount of rainfall since recoding began in the UAE. Scarier than any i have experienced at home to be honest.
Roads collapsed in Al Ain

Can they not deal with a little rain? 😄
But seriously, knowing people there, it has been catastrophic with tens of thousands of houses and businesses flooded and more rain coming.
Just as we don't have 400 snow ploughs for the once every 20 years snow, they don't have the infrastructure to deal with rain as they tend not to get much
The answer to a "little" rain is still no 😂 nevermind what came yesterday
The howling that came with the intense wind was so freaky!

For hours (partly heavy) snowfall in #Villach . Only 48 hours after the hottest April day in Carinthia's recorded history with temperatures over 30 degrees. Heat & snowfall in one month - at least in Carinthia I couldn't find anything comparable. (Webcam: PanoCloud)
Amazing, was just looking at the climate stats for this city and Klagenfurt (same Austrian region) , literally my idea of heaven climatically. Warm summers with thunderstorms but far less rainy days than here, approx one in three in the summer months, and mostly dry compared to here but snowy winters on the few days there is precipitation.
Under the hailstorm, the temperature dropped to 4.4°C in Nice around 6 p.m. on April 22, making it the coldest lowland city in France! It is also its lowest value in the last ten days of April since 1951!
Below not extreme but unique
