Feels like the right time to start a new thread for next year's gigs.
John Mayer playing the 3Arena on 29 March 2024.
Totally get where you are coming from but it's easy to forget they sold an insane amount of albums back in the day.
Talk on Corners went 20 times platinum in Ireland or something ridiculous like that.
These gigs are just to top up the pension and they'll go into hibernation for 5 years or 10 years until the next anniversary tour.
brill, defo gonna try for this
They supported Paramore last year in the 3Arena and were brilliant.
Honestly should be in trinity instead. Would be better for everyond
Arcade Fire July 7th Malahide Castle
**** me, they announce no gigs for over a month and now can’t stop announcing them
Really amazing summer for gigs here imo, Smashing Pumpkins/Weezer, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Blink, Green Day, Arcade Fire, Rammstein, LCD Soundsystem and obviously Taylor Swift, Springsteen and Coldplay. And that’s not even all of them
Agreed. Far better.
Wow. When you jot them all down, it's amazing. Presume most of them are crammed into June. Going to try to get to the majority of what you have outlined, except T. Swift.
Wasn’t expecting that. Wonder how it’ll sell after the recent allegations and the low attendance at the last gig
Probably reason they are doing funeral anniversary tour. They are hoping it brings some of the fans back
Reckon they'd be more in demand than a 5k venue. And they're doing an arena in Belfast too so makes sense. That said would have preferred Trinity if given the choice
2 days after Bloc Party and would think there'd be decent cross over over of fans albeit AF being more popular even with the allegations.
Bunnymen Supporting too.
That 3Arena gig was excellent. But not good enough to make the trek to Malahide on a Sunday night. I never got into Echo and the Bunnymen, but they come highly rated from what I have heard about them.
The Bloc Party gig is clashing with Hozier, Lord Huron and Brittany Howard in Marlay Park on same night.
Eh? Supporting who?
I got free tickets from mcd for the recent 3arena gig. I expect the same for this so hold off those of you planning on going. You'll either get possiblity of free tickets or real cheap ones the days before on resale on TM app
(Not going as I'll probably be at bloc party and Malahide is a hassle)
Arcade Fire in Malahide
And more importantly sugababes in iveagh
What's the story with the free tickets? That's a new one on me!
As far as I’m aware the allegations were from five woman who each approached Butler and he sleazily took advantage. Nothing underage. No violence. Nothing approaching any sort of criminality. Régine remains both with him and the band and he’s apologised for his adultery.
Lumping him in with criminal offenders or those with far worse behaviour is I think very unfair. We don’t have to approve of his adultery but we also don’t have to interfere in the private lives of people who are not committing crimes.
i didnt lump him in with any criminal offenders??
One upper circle available on TM resale for liam/squire...just had a look there
2nd 3arena date sold poorly, the pitchfork article about Win came out weeks previously.
May have had an impact or maybe two nights at 3arena surpassed the need for tickets for fans.
wrong on all aspects. women going up to chat to a famous musician at a social event is not an invitation to sexual abuse and harassment.
Go read the pitchfork piece before spreading disinformation. https://pitchfork.com/news/arcade-fires-win-butler-accused-of-sexual-misconduct-by-multiple-women-frontman-responds/
He found one of the alleged victims through Instagram.
He was accused of sexually attacking one of the people on two separate occasions and showing up outsider their apartment after being told not to. Those are violent acts and criminal.
Another victim was sent unwanted sexual messages and dick pics by Win. Borderline harassment and criminal in nature.
Therapy - Troublegum the 30th Anniversary Tour
Thu, 31 Oct 2024, 19:00
3Olympia Theatre, Dublin, D2
Thankfully he made Funeral. If they were just another indie band theyd be cancelled now.
Like Chris Rock said about Michael Jackson: "Thats how much we love Michael, we love Michael so much we let the first kid slide...."
whats the part of the URL needed to get to the MCD presale link on ticketmaster again?
Poor mans Placebo
Not you at all Davy, sorry, I never intended to infer that. I just meant in a more general way with the public. When someone is accused of something the shadow of Harvey Weinstein often hangs over it and public figures get condemned without investigation or due process.
