Not bad value to be own king / queen of a cheap Irish Castle in cork
1500 a week on air b and b?
Does the 1.1 million include a "discount" versus similar houses in the area?
Can't post the link. But renting a room out in 2020 : Facebook MyHome
Could also be a messy divorce with neither party wanting the headache of dealing with repairs, or just being stubborn.
Either they can't afford it, or were advised it would be too expensive to make it worth their while as they would be in negative equity, or that it would be better to demolish it.
I don't understand why the owner wouldn't fix it, and then sell it.
Can't see anyone buying it with "defects" unless its a builder. Would a bank even give a mortgage on it?
A3 BER is a lie then.
It was built between 2006 and about 2009 i think. My company at the time provided pipes for that site.
It doesn't say the year it was built. A3 BER which would suggest a new house, except it isn't verified and no BER number given.
Gallagher Quigley estate agents are delighted to present to the market the unique opportunity to buy someone else's nightmare for a mere 1.1 million snots. Early viewing and deep pockets are advised.
Pyrite or Mica?
When I first saw it I thought it was funky wall paper!
€1.1m for a house with 'building defects' and they'll only provide extracts from the report?!
I don't think the house looks too bad though (ignoring the defects)
Wonder if you could get one of the grants RTI got 😂😂😂😅😅
Nice gaff but god only knows what's hiding in that report.
Sounds like it could be fun!
It should be noted that a number of inherent building defects have been discovered and will require remediation. Investigations by expert consulting engineers have been carried out on the property and extracts from the report can be shared on request.
If that agent is in Dockland's I've a funny story. I was contracted by a start up taking on Daft & Myhome a few years ago. We had buckets of money and stupid investors. That agent called me one day and announced that he was taking over our business and paying one euro for it. I called the CEO and got permission to reply to him . . . . . . . I enjoyed that call 😎
No before pictures?
It looks well done, even though it wouldn't be my taste (though I love that red sofa - actually, all the sofas).
At least its not all grey and monochrome!
I don't like the Castleknock house at all, it's very Dermot Bannon.
Love it! So much colour and personal put into it. Maybe the tide is finally turning on bland grey houses, inside and out.
1970’s next to the Phoenix Park? I presume it’s Deer Park Avenue.
Mostly finding, negotiating with and waiting for people to do the work.

The EA may have been feeling woozy from the mold spores when writing the description.
The kitchen leads to a well-appointed bathroom and a utility/storage room
it's one step up from an outside toilet, and doesn't even have a basin!
while a doorway beckons you to explore the spacious garden
Try not to twist an ankle as you rush to get some fresh air
15 months to renovate that castleknock house?
What takes so long
Not for sale but a striking example of a total renovation of a 1970s house.
As big as the master bedroom is there's no room for the bedside tables because there's a door either side of the bed. They're shoved into corners on the opposite side of the room.
It looks empty because the rooms are so big and the pink chandelier in the kitchen is awful.
I'd say the hubby is behind the move, either to get his share of the equity or just to get her out. She said it was his family's land in the IT article.
Don't forget to add the pile of matresses in photo 40, spread them out on the floor to sleep another 10 at least!
I might even consider it in about 6 months time.
That's been on the market for at least 2 years. Started with Savills at €1.5m according to this July 22 article
Savills dropped it to €1.25m according to this Oct 22 article (reads like something from peak tiger in 2006)
Gone from Savills and now on my home.ie through DNG for €1.1m
But interestingly, showing up on mynest.ie for €975,000
went for double the asking i hear
Or alternatiely buy this and have 100k to spare
Is it not student res?? There was a sign in one of the pictures "Erasmus Dublin"
Not that it makes it any better.
