Indeed. It all feels very closed minded.
Am I missing something, or does "cannot understate how catastrophic" equate to "half our visitors might have a drive a slightly longer route" in the HSE world?
Really disappointing to see car-brain thinking coming out of HSE, given the very obvious public health benefits that arise from active travel.
It looks like that they are putting in proper cycle lanes on the road along Stillorgan park. Not before time either.
indeed, I would drink to that!
You know what, I'm not sure what the issue is, but if it allows for the implementation of the overall initiative maybe a compromise?
What exacrly is the issue with Tivoli Road?
We still seem to be pandering to car drivers whom may need to drive a slightly longer route.
Is that it? Or is there a viable reason for Tivoli Road concerns?
HSE says that:
The HSE said it was “not aware of any prior consultation” by the council with it on the plan which was surprising given it was “a major stakeholder” in the Dún Laoghaire area
FFS What world is the HSE living in??
Anyway if DLRCC could address some of the concerns around Tivoli road which I'm sure, given the geniuses within the Council, is not beyond the wit of man or woman, that a far larger proportion would support the initiative.

For once, with these things, this needs to go in unchanged for non-believers to see it actually does make the town a nicer place, and the sky didn't fall in. If it isn't working after a year, fine, address the problems.
84% of respondents stated they were from the dlrcoco catchment. Of the remainder, the vast majority were from the greater Dublin/Wicklow region.
Likewise others voted no for it. As I said the majority voted yes.
I doubt it, cyclists like me who don't live on the other side of the city voted for it too, these surveys are communicated widely in our bubble
Well the majority are for it..
That's good!
Still needs to be voted on by the council I think? Doubt they'll have the balls to put through the changes though and meet the fury of hard pressed motorists.
Never knew that area served as a carpark, any idea when that use ended?
Sorry, yes, Blackrock park, map below
Whiff of Booterstown marsh is the seasonal aroma here at McKillen's spa...
does every bit of open space send a purpose ?
the space at the other side of the marsh has got the green light for development
Paddy McKillen jnr gets green light for Booterstown spa and interpretative centre

I'd be willing to guess that it's just historically always been "where the circus is" and remained as an open-air event space on some planning maps since, and nobody through too hard about it otherwise. Parking on the Rock road isn't a thing now anymore, so events there can't plan for people to arrive in vehicles, so it's a pink elephant now.
What exactly is the purpose of that parcel of land? I know it was used for circus events back in the day but it's been a long time since it's been used for something useful. Seems like an awful waste in such a prime location.
Is that Blackrock park? The maps aren't great!
Would you have a link to the map?
Any of the maps I've seen indicate it will pass through the park just north of the lake/pond, there's plenty of green space there to accommodate any site compound.
The Council executive have signaled they intend to bring a report to the County Council Monthly Meeting on 11th March.
I think they'll be doing well to summarise 8,000 submissions and make any redesigns by then.
There is one final meeting on 8th April before the election, but the agenda for that is usually valedictory nonsense.
Do we know when the decision on Living Streets is due?
It’s a discussion board. Please leave the backseat moderating to the mods.
I care about local issues of concern.
I don't care if some derelict field is used as a site compound.
It’s not like you not to care Larbre. You probably need to get out more.
Too banal for you? Why don't you start us off on a more topical conversation then?
Who cares.
