I don't think he particularly believes in anything. Ever since he became mainstream on cable in the US, his show is always focusing on the same narrative, which is anti-liberal views. If the liberals in the US were backing Russia, he would be in Ukraine with Zelenskyy.

One of his kids turned up at the every special protest on January 6th, he's been pushing a lot of the recent UFO nonsense and I think he had some recent stuff about Ancient Aliens/Graham Hancock type archaeology. I think he believes in nonsense, but his comments about despising Trump shpws he's more than willing to do anything for views.
He's a Republican First type of American, able to say or do anything full of cynicism and a **** eating grin as long as he things it will result in his side getting political power. Of course they're "safe". They are entering the country as refugees same as many other refugees go to Russia or elsewhere. They're not being shipped to a gulag. Certainly there would be extra safety measures in case some hostile Ukrainians tried to come in as in a trojan horse, otherwise there is no racism or lack of safety for Ukrainian civilians going to Russia.
