We've seen many fires now of potential new migrant centres around the country and yet not one single arrest yet.

Do we really need a poll to determine if terrorism is wrong?
Well as in another area of "boards" people were going all out to support a thug that knocked a 76 year old to the ground and kicked his teeth in, I would guess that terrorism would be seen as acceptable, unless nukes were involved, in which case probation might need consideration :-(
Not enough poll options, you need a simple "Yes", arson is arson regardless of whatever reason. You should not need to state your opinion on protesting or immigration to answer just "yes".
Totally unjustified.Owners should be forced/taxed to put them in good order and rent out to people/businesses
It's in the middle of nowhere though
90% of Ireland is in the middle of nowhere. And there's still been plenty of these terrorist attacks on hotels in more built up areas.
The people who do this are scum. Just like the guys who set fire to the city centre.
What?
They were looking at renovating them, and renting them to state agencies, but some scumbags set fire to them.
These burning have been going on for at least 4 years at this stage, in a very predictable pattern. Recent arson maybe copy cat but the original perpetrators were well coordinated and part of a movement and the Garda will have agents on the inside.
Who benefits most from these burnings? Well insured property owners? Governments eager to please their European overlords? Or Mary and peadar who just want to put their feet up on front of the fire and not have to worry about half of Kandahar knocking on their door asking to borrow sugar?
Since a SF TD was a victim of arson by these thugs I can guarantee that when SF are in government the arsonist better watch their backs.
In case you missed it, my implication is that FFG had a lot of members sympathetic to the motives of the arsonists.
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Maybe we are taking too many in and the same should be done for our own but this mindless destruction of properties has to stop. In the end, nobody is winning.
I'm firmly of the belief if these places are dilapidated but well insured the finger should point to the owners first. Surely we have all seen the restaurant burning scene from good fellas 😁
Bullshit.
But it's clumsily worded.
Maybe "people have the right to peaceful protest but burning buildings is totally unacceptable "
Because I don't support the protestors in each instance.......
The Government and Gardai and beginning to look weak and ineffectual. It’s clear there’s a lack of an effective and efficient Immigration Policy and now they seem to be unable to deal with lawlessness in the face of bad actors trying to drum up a political base for themselves . The risk of somebody losing their life or multiple casualties is growing the longer this arson is allowed to continue . Arson is not a protest because it is terrorism .
Option D: Poll is completely disingenuous.
How did you vote, OP?
Lots of privately owned old unused buildings getting burned down resulting in a nice insurance pay day for the owners.
The gardai are a political tool of the government and those in power. From ignoring decades of sexual abuse by their catholic masters in the church, planting bombs to destroy families, writing off thousands of traffic penalty points for connected people, to spying on opposition TDs. If it was in some **** water central American banana republic you'd be embarrassed.
Hardly. Some of them had been earmarked for refugee use but now can't be because insurance companies wouldn't let them.
A governments first priority is to it's citizens, it would appear that given the volume of people we are taking in that that is not the case. While I do not support what is happening I can understand it.
It is in a republic, we have never been a true republic despite the sign on the door.
A state has legal obligations to the treaties it signed up to. It is a legal obligation of the Irish state to accept refugees. It accepts far fewer refugees than almost all other European nations - a drop in the bucket relatively.
The crisis in Ireland is not refugees, the crisis in Ireland is a government who failed to implement policies which would have given all citizens access to affordable housing.
The right wing thugs are just using the governments **** ups to justify their inate racism. They would be burning direct provision centre even if there were no housing crisis or increase in refugees. If they had their way they would be burning direct provision centres with refugees locked in them.
There is no excusing the behaviour of murderous thugs.
you have a Palestinian flag as your avatar m8, what do you think.
You probably need a pop up picture to figure it out.
By implication the fight for Irish independence was similarly terrorism ?
An occupied population has the right to seek it's freedom and you don't get freedom by asking for it from a murderous colonialist.
That was my point yes, didn't think it had to be spelt out.
Burning down habitable buildings in a protest against a housing crisis is mensa level sh1thousery
It's radical anti capitalism, an assault on the primacy of the free market.
It's like the anarchists of the early 1900s all over again.
Well played, sir, well played.
So as of this morning, more than 50% have expressed a vote that understands these local community protests. And you want to silence this majority? Life is full of uncomfortable truths.
