Can alcohol be used towards money off vouchers in Tesco?
They seem to be given to those who don't spend much to entice them back.
No, not in Tesco or anywhere - government regulations
No alcohol purchases don't accumulate in the total for voucher purchase spends.
I never get any and am a very sporadic Tesco shopper!
When I shopped in Tesco every week I didn't get them.
Then I did sporadic shops in one of the quieter stores - Kilbarrack.
Started getting the vouchers.
I used some of the vouchers but either cos it didn't lure me back to do big shops or because I spent a couple of them in a busier store Artane, I didn't get more.
Was looking for a butterfly can opener.. in the end I got it in Tesco for €1. Used to cost more before. Costs £1.50 in UK. Bargain.
Tesco seem to be removing alot of their drinks from their online range.
Must be due to this new policy
The deposit fee
From 1 February 2024, when you buy a drink featuring the Re-turn logo, you'll be charged a small deposit in addition to the price of the drink. The drinks containers included in the scheme are PET plastic bottles and aluminium and steel cans between 150mls and 3 litres. A deposit of 15c will apply to containers from 150ml to 500ml inclusive, and a deposit of 25c for containers over 500mls to 3 litres inclusive.
A lot of the own brand stuff I drink has been out of stock for weeks now, ridiculous scheme but nothing we can do about it and it has it's own thread so no point discussing it here.
Some bargains, coke and 7up slabs are a tenner, 5 for 5 2l 7up bottles.

Probably trying to clear the drinks out at 5 for 5 Pepsi Max 2ltr bottles in the offer too.
some large Coke bottles are 3 for 5 not as good but Coke is tasty.
I noticed this when starting an online shop to collect this weekend.
Many of the drinks that come in 2 litre bottles were marked as "unavailable right now", as was their 1 litre bottles of own brand flavoured still water, and also lucozade sport.
Coke 20 cans is down to €10 for the bank holiday weekend though, as usual.
The cans and bottles will need to have a barcode on them for the refund system so I'd say they are clearing old stock.

So if using a 10 off 50 voucher . You will pay €1.39 in Dunnes

Sugar 1kg seems to be €1.75 everywhere. Currently €1.50
I see 24x330ml cans of Pepsi/7Up Zero/Diet Coca Cola reduced to €8 from today, selling off the non Re-Turn barcoded stuff.

Got myself 7 up today, I think the bottles are 2L at the grand price of 1 euro. I was getting weird looks with my trolley of a sandwich, pastry and 20 bottles of 7 up.
i just assumed they were the shrinkflation version of the bottles :P !
Demerara is 1.50 with no statement of it being an offer, and the 500g is 80cent. It has been 1.50 for a while, it was always more expensive in the past. I can only presume they might do this as a sneaky way of appearing cheapest in some supermarket surveys which might accept a price of demerara to be submitted as standard "sugar". Years ago they did this with caster sugar, a lot of people are unaware that caster is just more finely ground than granulated. It used to be cheaper per kilo in tesco for a good while and very poorly stocked. People would blindly pick up the "value 1kg bag" which was actually more expensive.
Now people might obviously not want demerara instead of regular sugar, but in most cases caster sugar would have done, unless you did require the larger grain for some reason (e.g. prefer it on the surface of homemake donuts or something, but if dissolved it would go unnoticed)
