I got basenor ones. They were a hoor to fit.
Highland deliveries commenced today in the UK
Are the Highland cars shipping with a 5G sim?
Are we ever likely to see the sim upgraded? I find the speed not good enough a lot of the time.
Tesla has enabled adaptive headlights on Model 3 Highland(Update 2024.2). They appear to work quite well so far.
5G is worse than LTE for coverage. So that would be a downgrade frankly.
Surely 5G improves the speeds?
Where available at the point of availability. It's very poor for mobile vehicles and coverage
No 5G where I live but there is a few minutes up the road one way and again in the other direction. But yea they are very slow to roll out 5G a bit like fibre broadband they are very slow with that roll out as well. I still do not have high speed internet but the same again a two minute drive away from me in two directions do have fibre fed from different locations.
They are sh1te, to be polite….
If you have 5g coverage, but in general, LTE (4G) has a bigger coverage area so more consistency is how I understand it.
Ya Ive seen quiet a few people say they switched their home broadband from a 4G router to a 5G router and Sim but the speeds actually decreased rather than increased. Not sure the technical reason but I assume its a coverage issue and a solid 4G signal is better. For now anyway.
meh.. IO installed the 2 parts of mine when they sent them to me... noticed the extenders were always rubbing off the ground.. was out in Tesla one day and they suggested to remove the extenders and have just had the base bit on ever since and they are fine..
I bought a screen protector from Spigen in Poland about 15 months ago. They shipped to Ireland with no problems then and on a quick look now, they still do.
I can't comment on other brands but the Spigen protector is really easy to fit with no issues.
In Teslas many years, their screens are excellent, never used a protector and never had damage or wear of any description
Same.
4 years and 90,000km (and a kid who went from 5-9), and its still like new.. a firm rub of a microfibre cloth and it comes up like new. always.
Been annoyed by screen glare on maybe 2-3 occasions.
Also agree, 3 Teslas and never any problem with screen...they are not like phones which can get scratched by keys/coins.
I do have a screen protector on mine. Teenager sitting in front, having her foot raised over her other knee. Too close for the screen and dangerous in an accident. I had to demonstrate "phantom braking" to show her how stupid that was.
screen protector won't address that risk!
Obviously not, it might do something for an errant sneaker footprint. The more salient point is sitting properly in a seat in the event of a collision.
The spigen Poland site doesn’t have the Tesla section, or didn’t when I looked a few weeks ago. They don’t have the same inventory as the main .com site.
I bought the Spigen one on Amazon Germany. I also got the tray inserts. Very happy with them all.
Oh good idea on amazing Germany! Avoid the duties and an post fee.
the tray inserts are a must as well. Wonder if they are the same for the highland

RSymonds Highland real world range video
very impressive efficiency for winter driving (13.8kwh/100km)
530km real world before you hit the “buffer”. It’s the LR version though so worth bearing that in mind. He also mentions he thinks there’s 6 kWh remaining in the battery, in theory that’s another 50km but we need bjorn to do that test!
That’s impressive. I assume if heater was turned off the whole time it wouldn’t make a massive difference because of the heat pump?
Not sure, but it would be an uncomfortable drive.
On a long run the AC usage will be low per km driven, it only becomes "punishing" if on short trips as it forces inefficient motor use and PDC heating only for car to lose that heat when short journey over, personally that's an inefficiency I take every time
Car is currently set to 18degrees, steering wheel on auto heat and drivers set set to heat setting 1 and will stay like that for the foreseeable and I preheat every time
