Many forums have a similar thread, hope the mods allow it here too. I'll get the ball rolling:
Sofar ME3000SP for sale, brand new, unopened
why gen 2 and not gen 3?
I think the gen 2 work straight away with home assistant?
Exactly - I have gen2 on the other inverter integrated with home assistant. deal agreed with @Alfagtamini :-) Wired up the second inverter last night - never went above 100w today :-(
Where ya all getting 3 phase inverters and not using them? 😂
Got one of these battery switches that I haven't used so maybe someone here can use in their diy setup, 20e
Guys looking for pv cable and connectors
My orientation I'm going with may be 4 panels horizontally and possible future orientation 4 more just underneath
Would I be better going for 4mm or 6mm cable please
I'd say I only need about 5 to 10 meters
Cheers
Service on here is super, ordered yesterday, arrived today, connected & being monitored by HA already :-)
I aim to please:-)
4mm2 is fine. You only need 6mm2 if you are paralleling panels or if you have extrememely long cable runs
I have about 8m of red cable if you want it, where are you based
Newbridge 😉 - just ordered 10 pairs of mc4 connectors
I can't vouch for him as never dealt with him but this lad seems to be the cheapest around at 50 cent per meter for 6mm. Seems to have good feedback.

I'd be asking what the cable is stamped with first at that price. If it's got the letters "CCA" (Copper-Coated Aluminium) or similar - run away.
Probably a bit late.
Wesco in Newbridge sell red/black solar cable by the meter
That's right was in there yesterday tks
Anyone got a spare NeoStat ? If so, please PM me
Wanted: Solis CT clamp plus cable, like this:
Tks for the cable munster 👍👍
I think I have the correct CT and connecter but not the cable in Maynooth from when I extended/replaced mine if you're still looking I'll have a dig around in that drawer!
Yes please! I can make the cable myself 😀
Guys I have an Eddi installed since last summer. Turns out that my immersion element is faulty (always heated the water with gas before I installed the solar), anyway it's installed 7 months now but hasn't been used once.
The box and packaging is long gone, and I cut the cable on the CT clamp as I was extending it to get back to my distribution board, but there is still plenty of length on it and it works fine
Will let it go for €300 if anyone is interested. It was bought in Kellihers Electrical in June '23 and have the original invoice
Would you not just get the immersion fixed? Shouldn't be hard / expensive
Then you could potentially save a lot of money. Gas is about 10c / kWh and nowhere near 100% efficient. Electric is 100% efficient and in my case costs just 5c / kWh in the wee hours when I charge my cars, my battery and heat my water
Yeah I could repair it myself, I'm an electrician, but I'm in my house 15 years and haven't used the immersion once. Looking back I don't know why I even bothered to install the Eddi, our showers are 95% taken from our electric shower and I have an instant hot water tap in the kitchen which we use for dishes etc.
I carried out the solar install myself and I guess I just installed the Eddi as a nice to have rather than a necessity, and on the overall cost of materials for the project it didn't seem too bad as I was saving on labour costs, but on reflection I haven't used and and I'm not going to be using it so may aswell move it on if possible
Have you a smart meter? Instant showers and instant hot water use eye wateringly expensive electricity day rates. In my case, I get a 90% discount on night rate. So it costs 10 times as much during the day 😮
Your eddi is there already, you're an electrician. Go fix that bloody immersion. And while you're at it, go fit a pump for your showers and get rid of those nasty electric showers 😁
Do you have a Zappi also, if so then you will still get to use the nice ME App, if you do not then you will lose it. Maybe your hot water cylinder is old, I replaced mine last year, took out the electric shower and heat the water at night rate, 300l highly insulated tank so stays hot all day....
I am on a smart meter, yes, but not on a smart plan yet. I just pay 30c a unit inc vat on a 24hr tariff
Have you ever considered a career in motivational speaking? I feel like going home now and fixing the immersion 😀 but in all reality I'll still be here this time next year with it not fixed and the little Eddi up in the attic wondering why nobody loves it
I have a lot of positive things to say, but the vast majority of people don't seem to listen. So a job as a motivational speaker would probably be the most depressing and frustrating job I could possibly have 😂
There are doers (you, Graeme...). And there are talkers. And also (over) thinkers - I'm in that camp and we tend to get muchhhhh less done. Tis how I'm programmed so have to get off my backside :)
If only I could make people just think! That would do me. Unfortunately most people are so incredibly stuck in their ways, in the way things were done yesteryear, unwilling to change their thinking or even have an open mind, unwilling to see where we are heading and where we are supposed to be heading if we want to leave this planet to our children and grandchildren in a habitable state. That's what is frustrating to me.
