Impressive finish but not an overly impressive performance , he was getting hit way to often from a guy of William level,

I seen his post fight interview & he seems to be getting a bit ahead of himself

His confidence is verging on delusion but he has so much time on his side & plenty of room to improve,

I think he tried to copy Conor in being loud, cocky, agressive and controversial. He doesn’t have the same charisma, charm, wit, even good looks and style that Conor has so he just can’t carry it off. Who could really?? Conor is a 1-off and was extremely likeable up until the Floyd promotion. Throw in the weirdness that the wife and domestic situation brings to IG and he is now an easy target. He is a hell of a fighter tho.

I think his partner is behind all this. If he was just his normal self like he was early in his cage warriors career he'd be very popular. He's Irish, he'll be hugely popular just being normal.

Conor is the exception to every rule. He started out funny and his wit brought him loads of fans. He then got aggressive and got more fans. He then got nasty and still his fan base grew.

There's never been anything like him in MMA and there never will be.

I think he should start up his own MMA company. Proper MMA/ fighting championship would be a good name I think. He's so big he'd drag a huge amount of fans with him.

So Garry seems to have moved to Brazil full time and is training with Chute Box. Footage of him training appears on episode 1 of Embedded.

He says something like "Brazil is where I live and where I will die" and gets quite emotional when talking about his team and how they've supported him for the fight.

Of course his wife gets a good bit of screen time for some reason.

I agree with the consensus that she is responsible for a lot of the issues. But I don't think he's a mindless puppet. If she's been whispering in his ear, the issues are arising because he is believes what she is saying. Not because she has him under mind control.

The issues at Team KF where appeared very much to be an ego thing. He's been kick off 2 more teams. There's a lot of smoke...

It's just that if you watched interviews with him before it was known that he was with her he sounded like a really nice guy who was totally focused on his MMA and improving at it.

General rule o thumb if someone keeps telling you they don't care about something they care, He seemed to get very emotional every time the verbal abuse of his wife was brought up , which is fine behind closed doors but not as a fighter in front of the camera You can't give people bullets

For someone who tried to cancel Magny it's odd,by the way just me or was it odd in the build up to the fight he pulled out of he posted a video of himself holding his kid up to the open window of the car driving along, Bit odd he wasn't in a car seat for someone so passionate about how you look after children

Funniest thing was at the end he said he would always stay true to himself, From the outside it looks like its a real struggle for him to just be himself ,

That would have to be a good few years back. 2020? 2019? After 2 wins he was talking about being a double champ in CW.

He may not have been as cocky then as he is now, but I it’s a bit of a leap to pin that on the missus. You have to also consider his sporting trajectory. He’s gone from a few wins in cage warriors, to signed by the UFC, 12 fight win streak, top 10 in the world. That’s a lot of ego feeding.

There's nothing wrong with being cocky. Most fighters will tell you they are the best and they'll beat anybody.

He came across as genuine and pretty open back then. Suddenly then he's talking weird saying things you question he actually believes, basically coming across like a very bad actor.

Anyway this is from 2021. It's with Sean Sheehan who I like a lot.

Being a bit cocky is fine, it's a positive quality in small doses. There is no issue with ego in itself - ego is a part of the human psyche. But an over-inflated ego is a problem, especially in a gym environment.

That video above was when he was 3-0, claiming to be best in europe. He's now 12-0, that is going to to feed his ego. I assume he was seeing her then too. Looks like that moved in together days after that fight/Interview. That was also his last fight with Team KF. He was ditched before his next fight for the title. I have to put weight into the view of Chris Fields and others at KF.

I like Chris and Tom a lot, I had heard things about what went on in KF but don't know how true they are. Their statement was telling though, he became 'uncoachable' since she got involved.

Also, they knew he was UFC bound and decided to cut ties even though it would have seriously increased their profile.

I'm sure the story going around the local scene was a exaggerated (I didn't hear anything, but I assume it went around the Gyms). But there's no smoke without fire. The fact he was fighting for the title, and a UFC shot was a given if he won. They investment was about to pay off, that's a insane time to cut ties with a lad for no reason.
