I put an order for a model 3 stealth grey rwd on 26th of November.
It stills shows Jan/Feb 2024 with no VIN for me :(
Ordered a Tesla Y from existing inventory on 6th Jan and got delivery date of 19th that suddenly got postponed to 22nd. In the meantime price reduction happened and I was able to get the discounted price BUT my delivery date got again postponed to this Friday 26th (potentially 31st according to SMS).
Tesla advisor is claiming they are having issues with Revenue and they can not register any cars at the moment, anyone having similar issue? I have noticed too, VIN number assigned initially has changed. Am I right to assume they have changed the car I'm getting? Communication is horrible via SMS and I can't get a straight answer.
This happened last year also with one of the Models, either Revenue aren't the fastest adding new models to their system or Tesla weren't providing the data in the format Revenue required. It also happened to other manufacturers I think. But I don't know what new version of the Y is out that would require adding to Revenue. I could understand it for the M3H but is there anything new expected in the Y? A new motor?
Delivery dates with Tesla are prone to change and this is not unusual. if the car you bought from inventory had a status of "arriving soon " or " in transit" it is most likely that the car is arriving with the new batch on the ship which docked in Zeebrugge a few days ago. You will have your car soon at the reduced price so try to remain patient.
Possibly related to the price cut not being updated on revenues end.
Car was in Dublin when I ordered (I ordered right after a test drive and confirmed there). Problem is on Revenue's end, I was more worried about the VIN number changing.

im about to place an order for a MY. The Tesla trade in price is about 4k away from what I expected.
I have outstanding finance on the car (got settlement offer) so I’m thinking I will sell it to a car trader for slightly more.
the logistics of the whole process though are giving me a head ache.
how do I sell to a trader, clear outstanding finance, take the equity as a deposit for the new car all on the same day etc
we only have the one car, so selling it early ahead of the Tesla delivery isn’t feasible. how does it work?
If you find all that basic life stuff difficult, maybe you shouldn't have a driving licence.

Estimated trade-in from Tesla will change when you are asked for more clear pictures (Mine went from 35k to 21k). I cleared outstanding PCP (you have to do this by talking to whoever financed the car) and sold it on my own to autobuy who paid first price offered by Tesla on the spot. Used that money to pay for the new Tesla.
try not to over complicate things you have two choices
a) Accept the Tesla offer and they will clear the finance once you have a settlement amount all on the one day, offering you convenience but it comes at a price
b) Try to dell privately to a dealer but you may need their cooperation to agree to buy on the day that you're picking up your Tesla. In reality you would have to sell days before you pick up Tesla as you will need to pay for the car with Tesla before they will register. This is your responsibility and with mechanics you will not be able to do it on the one day.

Yeah this is probably what I will end up doing. I can’t believe it didn’t cross my mind earlier.
my brother has also offered me a bridging loan but renting a car for a few days will be easiest.

Anyone else told at the start of the week car expecting to land today then told today still waiting on a delivery date due to delays in Red Sea? EDD for me 1/2 - 16/2
also if you see not all those cars are bought as we can see them already in the inventory. I reckon people staying back a bit due to price fluctuations lately.
