As has been pointed out earlier "Border crossings" are not out of control per se , there has been a sharp increase in "interactions" and a resultant increase in the number of "apprehensions and expulsions" which is being spun by the GOP as "IT'S AN INVASION!!!!!"
Bidens policies for the border are no different than the previous administration so it's not "Bidens Policies are destroying this country!!!!!!!" as the GOP are claiming.
It's also worth nothing that the GOP have explicitly said that they will not help Biden improve anything at the border because they want to be able to use it as a stick to beat him this year prior to the election.
So, it's a "huge problem" and their voters are "in fear for their lives" but they will not fix it because it might make the other guy look good.
That tells you how much of an issue it actually is.

While Ukraine happened because Putin gambled on a lightning attack, where the EU wouldn't intervene out of fear for the gas supply, and that the Ukrainians would surrender in days;
Biden has actually been why there has been such a huge amount of equipment sent to Ukraine, and it has been the GOP trying to halt that supply - through agitation arond the border issue.
Anyway, I'll ask again: name a president whose Foreign Policy has been a driving factor in a Presidential Year, in particular a President who wasn't in the middle of a war involving deployed American troops.
