Here's a clue or a question.
Do pump houses have the "mains" for turning the water off?
That's a genuine question that someone might know.
I'm from rural Ireland but have no knowledge of pumphouses
I found the documentaries intriguing. I screen shot of one of the poems he was writing in the while talking to Sheridan. I get the feeling that 'the mermaid' is Sophie. 'Elegant...alone..ageless and timeless...under the stars...full moon' etc. Will never be solved.
Ellegant ! Who does that
Pretentious drivel . Easy see how that clown would be fascinated by Sophie
There's a lot more to his connection to Sophie than he let on
With respect, you've outlined nothing of the sort in this thread from what I can see. Your posts are available to view here if you'd like to quickly show us the specific one where you outlined why you believe Bailey was a murderer (aside from him being a woman beating c***). You've also labelled anyone who disagrees with your clearly informed view to be thick and an idiot so I'd like to know why I'm a thick idiot!
No I wouldn't think so , Sophies house was In at the end of a cul de sac , bailey if he had to leave say a pub in goleen he wouldnt pass the house or anywhere near it on his way home
His handwriting is a bit disturbing, though I’m not graphologist from the little bit I know it reveals somebody with very sudden changes of thought and mood and who gets very defensive.
Ya can see from that how Bailey might be attracted to someone like Sophie
No self awareness himself though
Re the geography, Sophie’s house is where the red/white circle is, Ian & Jules place is somewhere in the yellow area. Goleen & Schull can be seen respectively.
Common theme with narc personalities is the lack of self-awareness.
I think they mean on that night.
Sorry my mistake
There would usually be an electrical isolation switch / contactor in a pumphouse to isolate the pump from the electricity supply for when it might need maintenance. I have to reset mine whenever there's a power outage or glitch for more than a fraction of a second.
There would also usually be a water shutoff valve between the water pressure tank and the rising main to the house.
Everyone within 3miles that had that proven level of violence , of course.
ive no interest anymore , idiots will defend him to the hilt. Scum.
I reckon you are though
Either or, it just seems very odd that someone would leave the crime scene to get a block from the pump house to use as a weapon.
It implies knowledge of the pump house and its state. I’m just wondering could this knowledge have been gained by Bailey if he was staggering along the road to the house?
But does it imply prior knowledge of the pumphouse
Off the top of my head I wouldn't think so
More likely killer frantically searching for the nearest object to finish her off
Overthinking on this point I reckon
Alfie Lyons is as valid a suspect as Ian Bailey, if not more.
Let's go through both of them.
What makes Bailey a suspect, in no particular order.
1. Changed story about where he was that night.
2. Unexplained scratches and "wound" on forehead. The only people who could corroborate where he got the scratches were the Thomas family.
3. He told two people independently and unsolicited that he did it.
4. History of violence towards women.
5. Bonfire
6. Ambiguity about whether he knew Sophie, which has resurfaced based on something he said in his podcast.
7. His timely arrival at the scene.
8. He was a big strong 30 something year old capable of inflicting what was inflicted on Sophie.
What makes him less of a suspect.
1. How did he get to her house. This is mitigated by the knowledge that he was known to walk the roads late at night.
2. No DNA of his found.
3. He had no motive. I'd argue that his motive was sexual. We saw from his diaries that sex and sexual fantasies were something that interested him. He went to Sophie (whom he was stalking, see 6 above) trying his luck, got rejected , got into a rage (see 4 above) and killed her.
What makes Alfie a suspect.
1. Had a row over access with Sophie.
2. Was the closest to the scene.
3. Partner went to the dump.
What makes Alfie less of a suspect.
1. He was in his 60s and described as frail, not the kind that could inflict what was inflicted on Sophie.
3. What was his motive? People say it was maybe because Sophie might have informed on his drugs business. But we don't know if it was her.
4. Never once been in the public eye as a suspect., never that we know of been brought in for questioning.
From all that I can't figure how anyone puts the late Alfie Lyons over the late Ian Bailey as a suspect in this.
This isn't the first thread I've seen you get angry on. I reckon you need to get out more.
Were you jealous of Bailey because he had a partner and you're likely single in your 30s or 40s spending your life being abusive on Boards.ie? Or did you hate him because he was English?
You've been posting personal attacks on me and others
Maybe it's you that has the problem
There was lots of other blocks and rocks nearby.
I just think it's a potential clue.
It's a big stretch that a person with knowledge of that particular loose block(?)
Was also her killer and used that knowledge to kill her
I think they'd knowledge of the pump house. They knew the blocks were loose.
That's a big clue.
I should be on the Cold Case Review team. I'd have it solved already.
Hahah he was an abhorrent man, not because he was English. I have a partner cheers’! I hope you aren’t like Bailey with yours.
You could well be right, I may well be. But if I'm the problem because I take issue with people being brand "scum" or "irrational" because they have a different opinion, then that's a hill I'm happy to die on.
And I apologise for the tone of my attack on you yesterday, you're a good poster that has provided decent insight. Can't say the same about the other poster though.
threadbanned.
If posters cannot remain civil in this discussion I will close this thread.
Read the charter again and revise your posting style. There’s far too much abuse and personal attacks coming from this thread in a short space of time. It will not be tolerated.
Another important question to ask:
If we assume the smudge on the backdoor was left by the killer after they killed Sophie, what would be so important to walk all the way back to the house for?
It must be to remove incriminating evidence.
A key in the door perhaps, or something else?
The blocks is an interesting one
Narrows it down very much if they did know
I think it's too much of a stretch to believe the killer had prior knowledge
It narrows it down to neighbours, workmen, locals, housekeeper, postman, cleaners, gardeners etc.
Those types of people.
