He died earlier from a heart attack, very curious guy whatever you think of him. If he didn’t kill Sophie Toscan du Plantier he certainly didn’t help himself by his attention seeking behaviour.
She had a phonecall at 10 or 11pm that night and her body was discovered at 10am.
So the time of death is anytime between those hours.
The Garda working theory is just based on an assumption.
I agree it's most likely she was killed at night but there's nothing to support this.
I'd say he was **** himself
He was talking bollox as usual that he had new leads for the Garda and why haven't they spoken to him
unlikely, not many instances of this in ireland due to lack of guns
i'm sure whoever arrived at the scene would have at least noted the state of the body etc
Well seeing as how the cold case review was focused solely on Bailey and they were strengthening the case
I can make another assumption that there was likely plenty to support this view
there was ample evidence in the dwyer case, you don't need a smoking gun, if they had evidence saying Bailey was going out to kill her and she ends dead the next day hed be in jail too
there wasn't
there was no one else after 20 plus years
it was just for show
It was freezing cold.
She could've been killed at 8am and the body cold by 10.30 am
that's not quite how it works
I'm obviously not a pathologist but I know they've no accurate time of death.
It's just an assumption.
its all a guess over multiple hours due to temps etc unless they have something to narrow it down, in this case they do
How narrow?
In the information I've read the window is later than when Sophie received the call until early morning.
8am is a possibility.
What do they have to narrow it down?
I'm not disputing you but AFAIK all they had to go on was some food in her tummy?
Body temperature and other factors are normally used to calculate time of death, but in this case it was too late.
What would indeed have brought Sophie from door to gate in haste of a cold night or early morning?
A knock on the door?
Shouting or screaming, or strange noise, in the lane by the gate?
Maybe a shout of “Help!!” which would would bring anyone out of their door to see what on earth was happening.
Then maybe the sight of someone appearing to be injured which might have drawn her towards the gate to her fate.
This scenario would beg the question of why an attacker would lure her outside. 🧐
Maybe the attacker had knocked a few times on the door already and she was wasn’t expecting anyone and when she did open the door the attacker had retreated to the gate/lane. Maybe as I suggested above shouting for help,l.
Or giving a warning like “get out I could see your house is on fire”. 🧐
Begging yet another question, what could have motivated the attacker?
Being jealous he wasn’t getting attention from some previous encounter “I believe you’re a film producer, I’d be very interested to hear more about this!” & ruminating “who does she think she is the stuck up cow”, and being rebuked or simply plain ignored by an alluring, attractive, successful woman could have provoked an insecure alcoholic or drug-driven restless narcissistic to be overwhelmed by negative emotion in the darkness of the night or early morning🧐
Some frenetic rapidly evolving scene took place leading to her death.
Re Ian Bailey, people have argued he couldn’t have walked that far in the middle of the night. He could have driven, didn’t he or Jules have a car? Drink driving wouldn’t have entered the conscience I’m sure.
But Jules did say he was always a very messy person, and more especially when drunk wouldn’t have managed to do what was done without trails of blood on his clothes, or indeed in the car if he used one, considering the amount of blood at the scene of the crime.
And of course by some coincidence Ian had those scratches.
If Bailey was responsible that’s the sore of way I would see it as having happened.
Not sure what you mean?
that is the window, you could narrow it further if the body was examiner quickly, which is rarely going to be the case, otherwise, it could be days
would you wait until daylight to do this and risk getting seen?
the other house is not that far away
The body was not examined, eg. temperature taken by the doctor who pronounced her dead at about 11 O’clock. The 2 Gardai who arrived at 10:40 and the doctor noted fresher blood on the face neck and hair, other blood around the site appeared older, darker dried blood.
If that is the Garda theory, then I think its wrong.
There were no lights on in the house.
There was an uncovered cut loaf on the kitchen table.
There were orange coloured fruit and nuts in her stomach. ( a box of Jordan's crunchy breakfast cereal on the shelf)
There were no traces oif alcohol in her blood or urine.
The blood in her nostrils/top lip was reported to be wet by Garda Prendegast.
If I had set out specifically to kill....no.
But if the intended purpose of the visit was something else........???
Yes he was found guilty and convicted but ireland refused to extradite him. Inform yourself !
Yes, you are correct....my choice of words were wrong......
Which documentary is that in? Which episode?
Apparently he is referring to a guard from Bantry now deceased. Allegedly was having an affair with Sophie. A lot of local people in Schull believe he was involved
It was Bailey, he was an abusive bully, abuser of women, a drunk and a self proclaimed ladies man, pure evil. He looked like what you would expect Satan to look like.
Would she have had time to conduct an affair in Ireland?
She only bought the house in 1993, she died in 1996.
How often was there? Once or twice a year.
Once was with a bf, she was with her son most times also I think.
I doubt she was out carousing in the pubs as a 39 year old mother.
I think the rumour goes that it was the scorned wife that threw the rocks.
It’s the documentary Sheridan where Bailey is falling down drunk. His gf said she had a bad period and he wasn’t too happy. She refused sex. He stormed out of the house she said. It was in the middle of the night. Her words.
Apparently a drop of her blood was found on a rock in the field in front of her house.
So it's assumed she was attacked initially in front of her house and then ran to the gate.
I can't find a source for the drop of blood but it was said in one of the documentaries.
The curious things is the boots with the pyjamas.
I wouldn't put on boots to answer the door.
So she either already had them on or went outside for some reason.
