You've obviously never been to Knocklyon!
Joke of an episode in relation to the MO of the program, made up drama over a planter in the garden ffs
If it was once they talked about it that's grand but about 12 different conversations about it!
Whilst they mightn't interest me and I don't take their advice I'm good to follow people who I see on programs like this. I won't be following this guy tough. I'd happily follow her tough.
I thought he said €40k 🤔
That seems ridiculous money, how could it possibly cost that much?
Also, so those windows in the back open up all the way, like doors?
What's the point of that
I get the impression Diarmuid Gavin won't be making an appearance to finish their garden 😁
Dermot is really being a d1ck over the planter and/or shrubs in the garden
"come a long way from rural Sligo"
Patronising shite - is Knocklyon some sort of utopia!?
I just said to himself, all the talk of the garden I'm expecting a cameo from Diarmuid Gavin. 😂
I can never understand fitting poverty spec switches in a fancy kitchen.
So 130 k deep retrofit, no mention of insulation or heating
I'm sitting next to my Stanley 8.
His target demographic for his videos etc are all in Dublin not Sligo.
That’s a fine gaff in fairness. Expensive maybe but a fine gaff all the same
His office turned out nice, would like to see the budget for that.
Would love an office like that instead of my bedroom
Did they say the final cost ?
Seems to have totalled around 650 similar to last week
I liked the way the downstairs turned out… why can’t the explain the retro fit of insulation heating etc … the upstairs bathrooms looked well too
The audio over random shots of the kitchen of the QS explaining how the builder would get paid later by the SEAI sounded different to the rest of her face to camera interview. I would say it was recorded this week after last week's omnishambles.
External wall insulation is well worth the investment. We got rid of our stove when we got it done. No brainer. House went from a d1 to a b2.
Only job if you can do it.
Old extension.
It's a pity that they do not do a second, non peak time, show with more of the details. Insulation depth, heating system etc. It is all a bit superficial.
Do you think that would be the majority of what they did to the walls on tonights show or would they also need some of that Kingspan type insulation sheets inside too? It's a pity they don't give us that detail, would only take a few minutes to show.
No he's not
Good job he's not one then 👍
Hard to know. Given the cost you'd hope it was EWI.
Heating system was shown for a moment. Looks like a system for the solar panels.
Still an awful lot of money. New likely triple glaze windows, cavity insulation, pumped I assume as it's 1982 house so cavity block, steel beam, upgraded heating system a must for grant, plus solar system, plastering and finishing. No extra foundations. Any builders on here watching give an idea of real cost or has building inflation got out of hand?
That house is about a mile away from me! Knoclyon is full of people with notions I can tell you! I’m living here the last 35 plus years. Our house was built in 1993 and is probably is energy rated D too, Not a chance I could ever upgrade mine to as good as an A.
I thought the finished house was quite nice. No mad over run of budget either from what I could see.
