Fr25 just landed in Prestwick. Relief all around I'd say.
The Ryanair ex CWL had a bit of a divergence off the approach before going around or is that maybe a Flightradar anomaly?
CWL- DUB go around
What is fr25 doing does anyone know?
Just over 5h in the air! Wonder what the decision was to divert to BOD
Yeah? Meant to take off for Dublin in a hour
Hope we can land okay. Would rather a cancellation than a diversion
I don't know much about airplanes and all that but I do enjoy watching flightradar.
How much extra fuel do the planes carry? A lot of them have gone way over their normal flight time at the moment
Plenty getting in now
Seems to be Lanzarote based. Just down for ACE-DUB-ACE today. What a mess!
Will consider plan in conjunction with company. Said the approach was very windy, not just over the runway. Presumably difficult to achieve a sufficiently stabilised approach.
Looked like Glasgow, but now that Airport looks out of limits too. They need to land, this is going past normal procedure. Don't they have two diversion airports?
Gone around
Could it possibly be a French based aircraft? I know FR like everything back to base.
It's said that the entire time, often the 'diverting to' feature has erroneous information.
Emirates following it in
Oops change of mind!
FR25 says off back to Paris!?!?
FR25 from Paris to Dublin https://fr24.com/RYR5RV/33b3a768
EI609 from Amsterdam first to land in Dublin in well over an hour!
Aer Lingus from AMS just landed!
This is the messiest I've seen it. Go arounds at diversion airports too. Fr25 beauvais to Dublin went to Belfast, now off elsewhere.
Not fun as a passenger albeit still safe and planned for.
EU261 compensation doesn't apply for bad weather but the airline is still obligated to provide accommodation, or reimburse you for reasonable hotel expenses if you have to organise it yourself.
It's a right mess. Just to compound things, a squall is pushing through north Dublin now
The Liverpool to Knock flight I mentioned earlier that ended up in Stansted after 2 hours in the air, then spent two hours sitting on the tarmac, before deciding to stay there now. My idea of hell !!
Probably a full tank of fuel for the hold...
Yes that one is diverted to Bordeaux.
Emirates 163 says his alternate is BHX (assuming that they will accept him as a diversion).
That flight is in the air over four hours and it came from just Lyon. Has to land at SNN.
This one seems to be heading to Glasgow..
Meanwhile the flight just above it is flying Glasgow to Dublin
Wow that's crazy, how long must they have all been on the plane. Surely there's not much hope of landing!
As someone mentioned.. this storm wasn’t a shock.. we knew it was coming.. airlines also knew we were gong to be orange if not red warnings.. why were they allowed take off?
if you are diverting to Paris.. does the airline have to put you up in a hotel?
is it some kind of legal thing where they divert but it’s act of God and thus people can’t claim and it costs them more to cancel and put people up?
