Christmas Day is a Wednesday this year. Last time this happened was 2019 (i.e., the 2020 World Championship)
2020 PDC World Darts Championship - Wikipedia
Started on a Friday. Had the 'normal' number of 2 day sessions pre-Christmas so that 12/16 third round games took place before the break. Therefore less games remaining when they returned compared to recent years. Final on New Years Day.
I guess it comes down to what they like - whether pre or post Xmas sessions sell better to customers and what the needs/wishes of Sky Sports are (which may be something as banal as whether there is a full set of premier league matches on NYD).
Unlikely but they may have less afternoon sessions on WC 16th for example. Can never recall it starting on a Sunday in recent times.
Intresting
Would they do 3rd round games pre Christmas ?
Unlikely it will start on a Sunday. I would guess Thur 12th or Fri 13th
looking at making it over for one of the first week sessions for the 24/25 PDC World Championships and by my calculations it will start on Sunday 15th Dec with the last 2nd Round sessions been Mon 23rd Dec (7x days with 2 sessions & 2x days with 1 sessions)
booked a few free cancellation hotels from Mon 16th-Thurs 19th Dec with the ideal day been the Monday night as flights will be at an ok price. London pre christmas has its own issues
Anyone have experience of travelling over for the Darts ? More than likely be only the evening session and not doing both the one day
Are we getting closer to 'Stadium darts' ?
Be quiet the experience
Wonder if Huybrechts will get drawn against De Decker or Van Den Bergh during the UK Open
cannot see a long future at all in the seniors tour.
seniors tour a load of balloney
Phil Taylor's career ends at the hands of Manfred Bilderl
BBC digital platforms only, I believe. Definitely the BBC Sport website and iPlayer. Possibly a red button?
What station is the Senior darts on ?
Shows the level of intrest in it that nobody is even talking about it
MvG takes the Dutch world series event, despite averaging 6 points less than Littler.
Makes Humphries performance in the worlds final against him even more impressive
He also said he hadn't practised since world's champ final.
He is the real deal, he has them surges where it looks like he's playing 'bad' and then kicks into gear.
Most impressed with his finishing though especially when he needs it. Even this tourny he hit a few big checkouts and they were needed(not all)
Although can be complacent when way ahead and miss a bunch together.
ITV4
What station was it on
Couldn't find it
9-darter, 170 checkout, the lesser-spotted D17, and the Nuke winning at his first attempt.
What the **** did I miss today?
answered below, I could see them trying to put him in anyway to be honest.
No it goes to the next ranked player. It's not an invitational tournament like the world masters series or the premier league
Some win for him
Now will the PDC add him to the masters if someone drops out ?
Well I think it’s very safe to say the Nuke was no fluke.
he is into the final just beat G Pryce 7-3 in semi.
Saw on twitter Luke littler hit a 9 in Bahrain masters
2nd round is looking like the premier league
Wright starting the year as he ended it, struggled all game there. 1 maximum in 11 legs
Jocky was a cantankerous auld git 😆

Wow. They have just ruined the euro tour. No pdpa qualifiers any more, only 10 tour card qualifiers. The top 16 on both OOMs qualify automatically. Basically it's going to be the elite players playing every week. Very hard for anyone to break in to the top 32 now
