Cork must make progress this year and try and get to Division 1.
Team for Donegal game
TG4 showing Sundays football v Donegal live online and on their app with deferred coverage on tv at 5:40
The Camogie All-Ireland group draws have been made. There are now 2 groups of 6 instead of 3 groups of 4 like before.
Cork have been drawn against Galway (again like last year!).Down, Wexford, Clare and Dublin in Group 2.
Group 1 has Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick, Antrim, Kilkenny and Derry the intermediate champs.
6 teams qualify. Group winners into Semi Finals and 2nd and 3rd place teams into Quarter Finals.
The Munster Hurling League won't be completed
Does anyone know of a supporters bus going to the Donegal v Cork game on Sunday?
I'm asking on behalf of someone else.
Thanks.
In ladies football,
National League Division 1 Round 1
Cork 1-06 Galway 0-05
Played in shocking conditions and Katy Quirke scored all 1.06 for Cork. A new look team for Cork.
These winter competitions are only used to blow away the cobwebs, most teams don't take the seriously
There should be no hurling in winter months, its complete nonsense.
Hurling is a summer sport.
Pity those that wrote the master schedule didn't think about the climate. Idiotic to have less games in the good weather!
Maybe Supervalue Pairc was to have a covered roof for winter hurling :)
The weather will be the death knell for these preliminary competitions.
Hurling at this time of year versus the summer is like a different sport
Hurling is off again
As things stand right now status orange kicks in at 5 and its status yellow at 1, the worst off tomorrow is supporters travelling home from the club football final at 3.30 with the weather nobody will hang around who are there for the hurling.
Ladies football tomorrow moved from Mallow to Bishopstown at 2pm
Will it go ahead during an orange category storm?
Let's hope this continues
Please note if you are travelling......This game will now throw in at 1 pm
Won 4-3 on pens.
Always nice to beat Kerry 😁
1-14 a piece
Penalties to come.
0-07 v 1-07 dowm at ht
Awful defending for their goal just before ht. Very good performance so far in fairness against the very strong wind.
Playing well.
As mentioned above, mcgrath cup is live on youtube, TG4 are fantastic with their coverage
With regards to the media ban. Frank himself would be proud of that one. As the Who would say here is the new boss the same as the old boss!
Well the old Pairc had to be redeveloped. The problem was that the project ended being way over budget! Frank left us with this financial millstone as his final parting gift before leaving office!
Team for Limerick game
Hasn't the publicity been unreal? Supervalue name is everywhere on the news.
Any genuine reason not to take 1 million to change the name... can't see it, money for jam,if I was super value I would be reconsidering the offer though considering the bad coverage.
Match now on Saturday at 2.
Assuming Munster get to a European knockout and have home advantage the rules allow for Thomond to be used for a R16 or QF game but EPCR choose the venue of a potential Semi final and will look for a stadium with bigger capacity. Should Munster get there that's a great opportunity to use PuC instead of Lansdowne Road but the way Munster are playing at the moment it could be a few years before that happens again
But we live in hope
It's also giving up home advantage, lumping extra costs on yourself and playing a hundred kilometres from your support base.
Rugby and concerts won't bail cork out of this debt I'm afraid. Get ready for the county board to hollow out structure and penny pinch, and squeeze the clubs even more.
20,000 seats in the difference? You're telling me, if Munster drew Leinster in a European knockout game or league semi final, and got home advantage, they wouldn't like to sell those extra seats?
Now, I'd imagine, rightly, Leinster would hate to see it on down there. But surely, it's time for some initiative to get rid of this debt. I'm not saying they'd get it but have to try these things...
