Is there any orc representation at Davos this year? Or do they still feel there's too much russophobia?
Lived in Asia in 1990 and the cheapest flights to Ireland were always via Moscow with aeroflot. I never took them but remember some of the reports from friends, one where the masks kept popping down until an air hostess went to a door with a bucket of wet towels and let them get sucked into the gap around the door to seal it. They were suitably freaked out :-)
I flew to Havana on an Aeroflot in 2001. The plane was only half full. The back few rows seemed to be reserved for smoking, particularly cigars.
I flew Air France on my next trip there!
Flew a couple of internal flights in China in 1988 on ex Aeroflot aircraft, scariest flights I've ever been on, they were falling apart.
Bat-sh1t crazy Russians are still at it.
That would be normal enough, but when you see the cabin crew or the Pilots looking worried, then it's time for you to start getting worried too.....
On the positive side, they didn't bother too much about a bit of drinking on board. It was never a problem, especially on long flights.
Agm88 harm missiles , fired from ukrainian jet , homing on the radar ,
Maybe , its still long range though ,
Looking even less likely , they claimed to have found the pilots body in Berdyans'k which meant the aircraft was over Ukraine proper when it was brought down, but they haven't shown any of the wreckage, but they claimed it was shot down over the water, various sources are now saying three Aircraft came under fire close to the Kerch bridge the third aircraft was a Russian fighter jet , the A50 was definitely downed but it's more than likely friendly fire from the Russians
Shame if it is friendly fire,, they'd be a lot lot less keen on using them if they thought the Ukrainians could bring them down ,
I did read or hear that the russians were bringing them in closer to Ukraine as the Ukrainians were jamming them from a distance , and theyre running low on ground based radar
It would be a nice kill ,but it's gone that's all that matters now ,it looks like they have lost of intelligence gathering equipment which they won't be able to replace anytime soon
Putins view on Ukraine..

He really doesn't see he's done wrong,
Another planet
I'd also argue the loss of the crew is even more or just as important. I'd say those lads are not easy to replace. Probably specialised.
At least 15 lost and not including the injuries on the second plane , at this rate they will be advertising on employment websites
If that wasn't a translation error, that's some wording though: Putin said "conquered". Not "liberated", or "de-nazified" or anything that suggests a positive net difference for Ukraine. No: Russia conquered lands. Not that he cares anymore but it'll make the argument that they're sovereign russian lands a little trickier.
Rostov is smoking
It could still have been the Ukrainian's who brought them down (don't ask me how) but the Russians don't want it proved that Ukraine now has the capabilities to down planes at that range, and especially ones that had so much surveillance capabilities that it was thought that they were impossible to shoot down. Better for them propaganda wise to claim that it was friendly fire.
I'd say that it's meant as a kind of moral booster too. The word "Conquer" implies a win, so could it mean that Putin now knows that his war in Ukraine is a lost cause, and he's preparing his audience for an end? As in" Look, we have won!!! Hurrah."
Discontent is rising
More from Putin Russia, frozen or Boiled?

Deleted, Valeyard had already posted the same article. But these protests ar, regardless of the cause, are what causes Putin and his cronies their worst nightmares. Maybe next time, the protesters will dome in bigger nrs, and prepared to fight?.
snowball fight!!!
Literal translation is "[In regards to the negotiations, this is] the attempt to push towards/force us to give up those military gains that we have realised in the last 1.5 years". Putin talks in stilted, bureaucratic Russian. He really is not a charismatic leader, more like a dangerous rat.
And a cornered rat at that. The most dangerous rat of all.. will be interesting to see who emerges as King Rat when all this is finished.
It's a little unrealistic.
A preemptive attack on critical infrastructure in European NATO countries..... That the same NATO countries won't defend against and won't retaliate to? Seems a little whacky assumption. The same for the nuclear umbrella threat, we've seen Russian claim Ukrainian territory as it's own and even with all the Ukrainian attacks, zero nuclear attacks on Ukraine. Same for attacks conducted within Russia, zero nuclear response.
The author is looking at the Wests lack of resolve to give Ukraine what it needs to finish the war and assumes the same would happen if a NATO country was directly attacked?
Maybe the author hasn't read about how things are going for Russia in Ukraine and just how far behind schedule their 3 day war is!
This is the biggest concern,he's down but by no means out,
But I did see the a Chinese Media outlet putting down the notion of the Russian kinzhals being nothing but a 1980s rocket and not a modern hypersonic weapon , very unusual coming from Chinese state media rubbish there closest allie weapons
Nothing we didn't already know unfortunately,
