Threads where posters need help making basic decisions

There's been quite a spate of these recently, and by recently, I mean over the last 2/3 years.

To be clear, I'm not talking about threads started by posters looking for advice as regards serious life issues such as going through a divorce, separation, business falling-out, court case, dealing with significant mental or physical illness - all fair enough and grist to the mill.

I'm talking about threads started by members who apparently can't make basic day-to-day decisions without going to boards and seeking confirmation/validation.

If by the age of 18 you haven't learned how to tie your own shoe laces, wipe your arse after going to the toilet if it's a number two, do basic arithmetic, etc, then taking to the internet isn't going to solve your problems.

But the scutter used to be amusing. These days it's a fella asking will the government come after him for skipping a place in a Tesco's queue in March 2018 in Clarehall or something. It's become rather neurotic, if you ask me.

I did post a query in State Benefits asking where to put a DA travel card when booking a journey on Bus Eireann's Expressway, you see on the BE site its not obvious where to apply this when actually booking a journey. Some kind poster pointed out a tab called 'book tickets' at top of the page which I thought I'd been doing anyway, but if you choose this particular tab it takes you to the page with the drop down to add a DA travel card. So sometimes a simple query works wonders in Boards.

The lunacy around Covid and asking what now seem like absurd questions about basic freedoms should not be forgotten. I remember asking on boards what a "reasonable excuse" for travel during lockdown was and would travelling to maintain a property that I had in a different county be one. i was told by boards posters that I had no business being on the road.
