Agm88 harm missiles , fired from ukrainian jet , homing on the radar ,
Maybe , its still long range though ,
On the positive side, they didn't bother too much about a bit of drinking on board. It was never a problem, especially on long flights.
That would be normal enough, but when you see the cabin crew or the Pilots looking worried, then it's time for you to start getting worried too.....
Bat-sh1t crazy Russians are still at it.
Flew a couple of internal flights in China in 1988 on ex Aeroflot aircraft, scariest flights I've ever been on, they were falling apart.
I flew to Havana on an Aeroflot in 2001. The plane was only half full. The back few rows seemed to be reserved for smoking, particularly cigars.
I flew Air France on my next trip there!
Lived in Asia in 1990 and the cheapest flights to Ireland were always via Moscow with aeroflot. I never took them but remember some of the reports from friends, one where the masks kept popping down until an air hostess went to a door with a bucket of wet towels and let them get sucked into the gap around the door to seal it. They were suitably freaked out :-)
Is there any orc representation at Davos this year? Or do they still feel there's too much russophobia?
Exactly
yes, and it worked only too well on MH17. No harm to see Russia getting its own back and in spades.
The Taoglas antenna were real (I believe) but the Tillotson part was fake.
The little squares in the corner
The Chinese counterfeit everything and indeed they put all the markings incl fake origin markings. Wouldn't be much of a counterfeit if they left this stuff off.
The case you are thinking of I believe was fake Tillotson carburettors. Initially it was reported that made-in-Ireland Tillotson carburettors were found in a drone. An investigation showed they were fake Chinese parts.
sanctions aren't a "one way" deal either.... they also affect the people sanctioning them in the short term (with possible medium and long term repercussions).
Western industries are very much built around "just in time" strategies.... you take out a major purchaser of product (Russia in this case), if you don't have an alternative buyer, that ripples through a supply chain across numerous countries.
It's easy to just say "we won't sell X to this person"... but, putting in sanctions which minimise the results on the sanction-er is an extremely difficult thing to achieve, and what we've seen, industries will find the next available buyer, not currently sanctioned, who will probably be neighbours to Russia.
They were more square in design some of the shrapnel was recovered was cubes those particular type of sams are designed to explode underneath or in close proximity to an aircraft,
And yet it's already been debunked since this time last year, they are Copies with made in Ireland on them
If I remember correctly, the damage on MH17 was concentrated at the cockpit, and the recovered sections showed multiple "X" shaped holes (X is not quite the shape, but similar) and this shrapnel was specific to the BUK missiles. The damage on the tail of that plane is different, so BUKs can be ruled out I'd say. But for sure it was hit by something.
The guy clearly read out "made in Ireland ", if they are copies why would they copy "made in Ireland " in any case the production process for chips is extremely difficult and something russia lacks. If they could make a knock off of a western chip they wouldn't need to smuggle in real ones. It's not like making a cheap copy of a Swiss watch in order to sell at the market
Having lived there, I'd share your view. The corruption permeates through every part of Russian society. I always remember being on an internal flight, and the aircraft used was normally charted from a British company, with British pilots but on this occasion, the aircraft was out of service on maintenance, so a Russian company was used instead. As we waited, the two British pilots joined us, and I always remembered the conversation that passed between them. After walking around looking at the plane (a small executive type jet) Pilot A says to pilot B, " well, what do you think?" Pilot B answers " Hmmm,,,,don't know, what about you?" Pilot A , " same here...". So we board the plane, about 6 people, and the pilot discussion continues. It's clear that Pilot B is only waiting for Pilot A to give the nod, and he'll be off the plane like a shot. Then Pilot A says, "I guess that if the Russian's are prepared to fly it, we have to as well". So we flew and landed safely, but during the flight, I often saw the two UK pilots looking at something and whispering to each other. For a so-called executive jet (Russian style) I nearly froze to death on it....everyone on the plane was shivering, despite being covered up in warm clothes. So if the heating was defective, it made me (and the UK Pilots) wonder what else was the same. And I did have some scary moments in Russian Aircraft, and witnessed and indeed too part in, what might best be called "Roadside repairs". Just like when the car breaks down in Ireland, only there's no AA service available in Russia.
It's no secret that Russia are using neighbouring countries to evade sanctions. Not much can be done in that regard unless you want to sanction more countries.
Sanctions will never make it impossible to get stuff (see Iran, NK for examples) but they will make it more expensive because those middle-men want a cut. That's the goal.
Yes. Personally, I'm suspicious of anything said by any Russian. She mentions a list of types to be "rooted" out, but would "Anti Vladimir Putin" have covered the lot? Or maybe even " less than 110%" in support of Vladimir Putin? if she turns out to be a case of involuntary suicide in the near future, then maybe she was genuine. We will see.
It was previously shown that the Irish chips and parts are Copies and not actually produced here in Ireland..
The value of trade by Irish companies has increase by 5000% to countries neighbouring Russia. Why is this the case if there is certain food and medical categories still allowed to be sent directly to Russia?
I saw a YouTube from Ukraine showing their forensic team going through Russian missile and drone debris. Almost all has western chips electronics and cameras. In one instance the guy holds up a motor or some sort from shaheed drone, he says the drone was made in Russia but this part made in Ireland. It was dual use part for lawnmower. But also chips from missile that were made in Ireland. They reckon they are coming in from third countries especially Turkey and Kazakhstan. This is where the west needs to come down hard on Turkey
I do worry a little about Russia's civil nuclear facilities; not like there isn't prior history of mismanagement causing disaster - but with sanctions, a brain drain through the war and the obvious facade now being shown in public, I'd be anxious Russia's facilities are not up to snuff.
This is like if you think you are Gay you publicly take on a demeanour of criticising Gay people and calling for Gay people to be denounced to prove that you yourself are not Gay.
What is "Yes. I'm 110% a Putinist. " In Russian?
And another factory fire, but a bit more serios this time, it makes chemicals for weapons

Could it be that some of these items are binge traded in some way for military supplies for Russia?
When this war is over we are going to hear interesting stories of what part western intelligence played in some of these operations. The Russians military really are a laughing stock. Some posters might not want to admit it, but it's the truth.
You want answers....
I want the truth!
You can't handle the truth!!!
which would mean it was in close proximity to the detonation, which is a bit of a no no for ELINT aircraft, particularly beside a large potentially transmitting radar station.
