Sure are they not cheating by constantly throwing the ball and the referee’s not calling them out and don’t come back with everyone is doing it . It’s totally against the rules which means it’s cheating.
🙄🙄🙄
When ur in a hole stop digging ffs,ur embarrassing yourself.Go away and celebrate the all irelands ye won this week and stop talking sh1t
I’ll repeat if you don’t play the games to the rules it is cheating. What do you not understand about that statement.
take no notice that lad 100% blinkered to his own county , well done yesterday by the way
If it doesn’t suit you don’t come on here
good lad great response , myself and high bike may have had many battles but this takes the biscuit , i take it all back mr high bike espically the stuff about dowling on the sunday game 🤪
Congrats to Tullogher and Thomastown on 2 great wins on Saturday night, hopefully O'Loughlins can follow up and make it a clean sweep next weekend! Thomastown were excellent again on Saturday and just looking at their margin of victories all year shows how good they are! I know Peter McDonald and Stephen Donnelly have been called up but are there any other Thomastown players brought in? Surely Eddie Donnelly and Zach Bay Hammond would be worth a look, Robbie Donnelly has been excellent for them too but is pushing on and has may have missed his chance!
For Tullogher, would I be right in saying that Lar and Marty Murphy, Danny Glennon and Coleman O'Sullivan are U20 again for 2024?
Marty Murphy is U19 this year
Lar Murphy and Danny Glennon are both U20
Colman O Sullivan would be u22 this year
Thanks for that, was fairly sure with the 2 Murphy's and Glennon were underage but wasn't sure about O'Sullivan. By the looks of it on paper we should have a strong U20 team this year.
Congrats to the thomastown and tullogher at the weekend. I fancied both their chances but didn't think they would win as comfortably..as other posters have said in spite of lads claiming the cork teams were at a lower level they still had won munster and got to the final
Hopefully a few players on both teams can make the step up to the county team
On the whole limerick being criticised for throwing the ball..limerick do throw the ball but so do every other team in the country. The truth is they have a team of highly skilled monsters of men who are coached exceptionally well..they are the best team in the country at the moment .its up to other counties to improve their systems and catch up to them.
Yes limerick play on the edge and sometimes a bit beyond but that's what winners do.
Can any kilkenny man honestly say that tyrell/tommy/jj/noel hickey were saints? They most certainly were not and that's what made them great
Colman was on the kilkenny u20 panel a few years ago. I would expect Lar, Marty and Danny to go well with the Kilkenny U20s this year. They were central in coming very close to beating Dicksboro in the Minor A county final a few years ago, really should have won but thats county finals for you. If Tullogher can keep some momentum going this year they will do very well intermediate. With Thomastown up senior this has levelled the playing field somewhat at intermediate grade. Expect Thomastown to ruffle a few feathers up senior aswell.
Delighted Thomastown man here, we are very proud of the lads and the management team. Lowest winning margin in knock out matches was 15 points all year, which shows how well they have played. The most pleasing aspect is both the age profile of the team and the style of play, went with a little too much high ball in the final but changed it up and the scoring power eventually told.
Congratulations to our near neighbours Tullogher on their great win, they will do well in intermediate. The guard of honour from them when Thomastown came on to the field was incredible. A very classy touch especially whilst they were mid celebration.
Best wishes to O Loughlin Gaels next week, bring it home lads. It would really show the strength of our clubs if we could win the three and the camogie senior. Hopefully a good sign for the county team.
Any team that fouls is "cheating"...great...junior infants stuff here.
Kilkenny had to endure all kinds of abuse and criticism during their successful years. It goes with the territory.
As I said earlier, perfect the throw ball by using it throughout the league. If all teams use it more, the refs will either blow it for both teams in a match or let it go. But at least teams will be on an equal footing and we can't have any complaints.
I do remember being very irritated at that time by the likes of Donal o grady going on about the dark arts..as.if every team doesn't do the same.he was before my time but my father said he was well.able to give hardship himself in his day
A right pain in the ....!
You don’t seem to get it the thrown hand pass is not being stopped and Limerick are so good they don’t need to do this. There is no ground hurling anymore, no overhead pulling , you are actually giving in to this throwing by saying we should all be doing it what will be next then?
Exactly, there is no skill in throwing the ball. It's not just a Limerick problem, it needs to be stamped out for all teams. A less skillful game just leads to conditioning and size being the most important thing, which Limerick seem to have in abundance. Again not their fault, and they are skillful enough not to need to throw the ball.
Be good to see some of these lads get a chance instead of some of the extremely over rated players at this age who played last year but aint half as good.
Zzźzzzź........🙄
O'Grady is an awful pundit, most pro Munster Anti Leinster person there is.
Congratulations to both teams at the weekend. Both teams played a lovely brand when they got going. The 2 murphys will be a big help to the u20s this year.Thomastown have being incredible all year and are a really exciting team. Everyone is looking forward to see how they will go at senior. Stephen donnelly will no doubt get a few league games and lyng could do worse than bringing zach bay in around the senior squad. He has missed a good bit of hurling but that can improve and he could have something to offer.
I saw somewhere the walsh cup match against wexford is in callan next Saturday at 13.30. Hopefully the same squad is used this weekend although he might want to get a bit of gametime into others before the league starts in a few weeks.
They say Barry Nash is the fastest on the Limerick panel, I remember back in 2018 seeing a picture showing Zach Bay Hammond was the 3rd fastest in Ireland at 200m under 16 at all Ireland athletics final.
He could turn into a Barry Nash in my eyes with the right coaching - up and down the pitch in Croker.
Zach is a supreme athlete and although I only watched the game on TG4 on Saturday I thought he was excellent.
I am not retiring Cillian Buckley or Conor Fogarty but would Hammond not be better learning his trade with a spot on the panel??
Heard its 4 on Saturday in Mooncoin, Clubber have it advertised for 4pm anyway.
At county board meeting last night they said it's definitely going ahead in Callan on Saturday.
Ah perfect, i know from someone involved with the Wexford team that Mooncoin was the intended venue as of last weekend which we agreed was an unusual one, Callan probably better all things considered.
Yeah I was talking to a friend from Wexford yesterday too and he had heard that it was in Mooncoin on Saturday evening, it's a pity we don't have anywhere with Floodlights we could have played the game on Saturday evening! Callan probably has better facilities to host it in fairness!
Glad it's not under floodlights. All hurling matches should be played under natural light in the interest of the players and supporters who should be prioritised ahead of TV audiences.
Exactly. Media giants like Clubber shouldn't be dictating throw in times to the GAA. The Diarolyte Walsh Cup is too big a competition to hand over to the likes of Clubber!
