Houthis follow orders from Iran ... Iran follows orders from Big Oil ... Big Oil follow orders from Big Bank ... Big Bank follow orders from their shareholders ... the shareholders are controlled by global think tanks that guide them and our world to make sure the elite profit ... often to the detriment to the rest of us in all nations ...

So the real puppet masters are the "global think tanks" run by the elite?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,819 ✭✭✭timmyntc

No the real puppet masters are the lizard people, the descendants of dinosaurs, who want to spike global oil prices to be able to make oil from their ancestors bones for more profit.

    It's so obvious people!

Of course ... there are just a handful of big powers in the world ... and each is calling the shots ... literally sadly all too often! ... it is all alliances and all big powers using smaller countries to do their dirty work ... Israel = US, Iran = Russia and so on ... all the same old same old cold war proxy stuff going on since Korea ... and why are big powers so aggressive? ... all we need to do is look at the industries that drive them ...

Right, but since the global think tanks run everything, they run Putin right?

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

Where on Earth are you getting 20% of the crude oil supply from? It is more like 4%.

And if someone decides to attack Iran then 30% of he worlds LNG and 20% of Crude oil supply will be off the market for a good while.

Why would 20% of the world's crude oil supply be off the market for a good while if someone decided to attack Iran?

It's not true on multiple levels.

I'm guessing some belief that war with Iran would close the straits and ships would magically be unable to go around the Horn.

Jaysus. You claimed 20% of global crude supply and 30% of global LNG will stop if Iran is attacked - where do those figures come from?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭brickster69

20% of worlds oil and 30% of LNG goes through the straights of Hormuz.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

Yeah I mean there’s so much talk around war right now- be it threats from Russia, Israel/Gaza expanding etc etc Threats to oil /gas supplies means everything goes up in price - it’s a shaky world right now I’m not surprised there’s a strong risk of interest rates not reducing

    The shenanigans never end.

A portion of global shipping is currently going around the Horn due to Houthi attacks, the route is about a third longer. Iran has had wars before, all I can say is good luck to them if they ever directly tried to block Russian, Chinese, American, Middle Eastern, African and global trade through Iranian and Omani claimed waters in the Strait.

    So what?

By what possible logic does that mean that 20% of the world's oil would be "off market for a good while".

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭brickster69

Like i said, if someone attacked Iran then the area would turn into a warzone.

Putin is the main man on the Russian political side of the ongoing and never ended cold war ... Putin represents various Russian entities that rule over Russia and influence satellites like Iran and Syria ... Russia has its think tanks too ... obviously framing Russian propaganda and agendas which Putin executes ...

    Again, so what?

This is like saying it would be impossible to reach Cork if the M8 was blockaded. It wouldn't be, it would just take a bit more time.

"20% of Crude oil supply will be off the market for a good while." is a fundamentally incorrect statement.

Right so Putin is just a puppet according to you, interesting, which "think tank" really runs Russia then?

Take a look at a map and you will get the picture

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

I've got the picture. Overland pipelines would take some of the volumes, but ultimately Iran has no real ability to shut the strait. The same way Russia has been incapable of properly blockading Ukrainian ports, and that is with direct fire coming on them. Something that simply would not be happening in this fictional scenario you have conjured up in your head.

It would cause problems, but it would not take 20% of oil off the market for a good while. It would also be the catalyst for a very weird but powerful coalition of countries who would join forces to quickly decimate Iran's ability to do any further damage to trade in the region.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,669 ✭✭✭brickster69

What overland pipelines exactly ? And how is 30% of the worlds LNG going to get out in a warzone and no insurance ?

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

    The East-West Crude Oil Pipeline.

Exactly what benefit do you think Iran is going to get from making enemies of SA, UAE and Oman? Forcing them, the US and China all onto the same side in a conflict would be something else but it wouldn't bode well for their chances.

It is also a lot easier to provide military support for 14 tankers of crude a day through a short passage than what we are seeing in the Red Sea.

This is what would happen if someone attacked Iran isn't it ? So maybe people cheering on doing that should think of the consequences before jumping in with 2 feet again.

    Niccolò Machiavelli :

"To ally with great powers to defeat your neighbour is a strategic trap; if you win, you become the slave of the greater power; if the allied power is defeated, you remain alone and defenceless against the angry neighbour, and you are destroyed." - Niccolò Machiavelli

putin must be a puppet so that military spending is needed on all sides to make the think tanks wealthier and keep the normal man on the street down…. And yet no mention of all the lizard people meeting in Davos and there cunning plans to implement AI so the man on the street no longer has a job….these yellow pills are magical can see so clearly after popping them.

First off ... another war in the Middle East is exactly what no one needs and no one should want ... second off Paydari represent less than 1% of Iran's people and Iran deserves a far better govt than Paydari ... but who created Paydari? Trump and his sanctions ... only for that the moderates would have done well and Paydari would not have the excuse ...

It is clear the US especially under guys like Trump wage economic war on Iran ... prefer hardliners ruling Iran too because it keeps it poor and backward and weak if they should decide to attack ... personally I do not think the US will go to war with Iran because the US has exactly who they desire in power in Iran ... Paydari ... a moderate govt in Iran would make Iran stronger and ironically more of a rival to the US's dominance of the region !! ... it is no coincidence that the US let the Shah fall, did not reach out to Rafsanjani, called Iran 'Axis of Evil' during Khatami's presidency and withdrew from the JCPOA ... when Iran's president was Rouhani ... under that cretin Trump's useless excuse for a 'govt' ....

If the US were to attack Paydari Iran (which is unlikely for reasons given) what would happen? .... the regime would fall within 1-2 months ... but the guerrilla warfare, terrorism and civil war would go on and on and on ... obviously piracy would take adv in the Persian Gulf ... Iran would comprise of a weak US-backed puppet in Tehran with authority over Persian Iran ... the Azerbaijan province would seek independence or could merge with Azerbaijan the country or Turkey ... the Balochistan and Khuzestan areas would be taken over by ISIS ... because Iran has a coastline it would be a worse security situation than Iraq ever was ...
