Surely its the well heeled that create service jobs?
Be curious to know if its due to optics or if mike cant pay his bills
Fox optics!!! doubt that option.
Is there anybody left who is somehow undecided to the point that such optics matter?
If somebody is still a Trump supporter at this point, think of all the shyte that has happened, that Trump has already said and done, which haven't stopped them being a Trump supporter.
Him not comforting his wife is comparatively small fry, and given his "grab em by the pussy" comments and the judge's comments that he's effectively a rapist, his lack of respect for women doesn't lose him their votes.
I am actually not sure what it is that he would need to do to lose the support of these people.
In Doonbeg?
You're not wrong but the place seems a bit small to base any moderately sized companies in. I'd to google it as I knew nothing about it save for the golf course.
Bills. They gave him a few months credit to give him time to pay up, but he hasn't/can't.
Of course, Lindell is claiming he can pay, but Fox are trying to cancel him. Because as we all know, the word "cancel" has now lost absolutely all meaning and people can now use the word cancel in any sentence because of how little it means. I was telling my cancel about it yesterday while waiting for my cancel to cancel.
I’m sure trump will support him…..😂
Say something smart or decent, that would confuse the hell out of them.
Famous for doling his mates out. Just ask Rudy.
"Hey donnie it's Mike lindell here, I'm really short of cash, can you help me out?"
"Mike Lindell? Never heard of you"
It's a tiny village, but the Hotel generates quite a few jobs for locals - Bar/restaurant/kitchen staff as well as hotel and Grounds staff and maintenance etc.
There's also the overflow business into local Guesthouses, Bars and cafes and so on.
It is important to the local "micro economy" but someone else will buy it and retain those jobs.
And hopefully the new buyer won't be using Russian Mob money to pay for it.
Simple. All Trump has to say is this: "I support abortions for all". There, boom: the base is gone; even if, ironically, it'll suddenly attract more independent voters on balance.
Exactly. The original argument seemed to be that the golf course would wither and die without Trump when there'd be a queue of prospective buyers for it if he decided to sell it.
how will he sleep at night :(
Absolutely terribly if he's using one of his own awful pillows
Wasn't there someone on her who had one and sang its praises? Scarpered off once his messiah lost the election though.
He's been a bit better weasel wording about abortions lately since even he realizes it's a nonrunner as state after state is modifying its Constitution to undo the worst of the GQP gerrymanderites that run its state legislatures: Ohio, Kansas spring to mind as GQP states who have enshrined abortion protection. There's even soon to be a referendum in Florida about it. Will dig up the link later.
I wonder if that would even do it. They’d likely just reword it so say that he meant to say was «I support abortions for all the maxist socialist extreemists».
I suspect these MAGA / far-right extreemists have little trouble with abortion itself, so long as their women don’t get any ideas in their pretty little heads about having sexual autonomy. No, I think they just want to make sure that once a local girl gets knocked up by Cousin Billy-Bob, all she has to look forward to is a shotgun wedding (likely with actual shotguns knowing them) and a long tedious marriage til death do them part, no matter how much of a bell-end Billy-Bob is to her. No notions of playing the field to find a compatible partner. No, you will marry the local dimwit young lady, you will learn to like it!
This is how I imagine the MAGA crowd think when it comes to abortion.
Donald Trump himself couldn't care less about abortion and if he happened to get a mistress knocked up, he'd have noooo problem getting her sorted out at the nearest clinic, to the point where the abortion wouldn't be an option but an insistence.
But it's a vote-getter, so it's a no-brainer in order to get the rubes on side.
As for what would lose Trump his base, I'd say if he rejoined the Democratic party and revealed that the last decade of behaviour was brain damage resulting from a gas leak at one of his hotels. Not much else.
If he shot someone dead on 5th avenue - They had it coming. Internet conspiracy theorists would quickly turn the deceased into the worst threat to American security since Julius and Ethel Rosenburg.
Caught with kiddy porn - Deepfake. Planted on him.
Caught with classified documents - Oh, wait. That's not a hypothetical, that actually happened, and Trump hung on to a collection of documents even after being asked to give them back.
Incited an insurrection - Oh, wait. That's not a hypothetical, that actually happened, and Trump has since acted like he never spoke words of condemnation of 'his people' on Jan 7 2021.
The fact of the matter is this: Trump has incrementally normalised that which a scintilla thereof would have utterly sunk a normal politician a decade ago, and there is no nothing other than changing political affiliation that could scupper him. His emergence has well and truly shifted the Overton Window.
What I find disturbing is that those in the center or left in the States are still kind of laughing about Trump, like he's still making up a lot of monologue fodder on the late night shows. It isn't funny. It actually aids Trump because people can just agree among themselves that Trump is bad without actually doing anything while his movement continues to wreak havoc.
Now, Trump is calling those convicted of rioting on Jan 6th 'hostages'!
This is the man who swore to uphold the laws of the US.
Imagine the meltdown that would ensure if he flames out on Monday?
Anything less that a double digit win for him would be a failure given the polling.
it seems his cheques for previous adds bounced
There's a mattress or pillow joke in there somewhere. I'll need to sleep on it.
We know what happens when Trump loses electoral contests, but it would sting him extra badly if it was a contest he was genuinely expecting to win.
Although seeing Haley beat him would be enjoyable, it's worth remembering that if she somehow got the nomination, she'd probably stand a better chance of beating Biden and helping Trump get off all of his charges, so it's a good case of "careful what you wish for..."
I'm not down with that
Short “ memory foam”.
You can use the word "case" too.
It is just in.
Which is the worse outcome?
Trump being president, or Trump getting a pardon in some of the cases which it's possible to get pardoned for?
Even Trump losing in the presidential election and screaming about it for another however many years would be bad and would be a close call as to if giving it pardon to shut him up would be better.
Trump should be held liable for the crimes he has committed, and if he is not, then it normalises that behaviour and that cannot be allowed to happen if the US is to remain a functional democracy.
The point about Haley winning is that it's not that much better of an outcome. Trump would be allowed to remain in public life and exert an undue amount of influence on US politics.
Trump running and losing would be the best outcome put of the choices as it would present the best opportunity to make him pay. He would rant and rave about that - probably to a new level, but that would have to be faced down. Sometimes bullies need to get their nose broken.
Time to put the pillow jokes to bed.
