I've my bags packed ready to move into that church!
I think it's lovely, agree about the downstairs but I also think the camera lens might be adding to the vastness.
Probably wouldn't put a bed on the balcony either .
I love the grounds aswell.
Not sure I get the in case of a fire point, how is it different from any other two story house? 99.9% of two stories don't have a fire exit door upstairs.
It wouldn't be for me either, but as far a church conversions go, its one of the better ones I've seen.
Not a door, but they have to have accessible windows - there have to be windows of a particular height and ability to open sufficiently to exit. Granted a lot of older properties would be iffy on this, but if you build or renovate you have to have fire-exitable windows in all bedrooms, and this conversion seems as though it is relatively new.
(I am entertained by using the word conversion in reference to a church!)
I don't think so, there looks like enough counter space and storage. The openness and space is nice an island would just have clutter
The dining room table and chairs (pic 9) look like something left over from the Spanish Inquisition (and about as comfortable).
far too much open space in that kitchen. its a two day hike from one side to the other.
It's a lovely looking conversion but does the BER of F not put you off? I'd imagine it being fairly fecking chilly.
The owner is a fan of romantic suspense author Karen Rose so this décor and taste in general is not surprising (not that I knew who Karen Rose was). It has a cheaper, wannabe Barbara Cartland feel to it.
That high-shine floor in the main bedroom though - you'd have yourself a broken leg or hip within a week if you tried to walk on that in yer socks!
Maybe the pillars are there to grab onto if you slip too far, or maybe if you want to change direction, you use them to sling yerself around a corner. 😄
I used to work in one of those old converted churches and while it was a really cool looking building it was impossible to heat. All the heat just goes straight to the roof. I think there was alos preservation orders on the windows too so no chance of properly insulating them.
New owners would have to figure out how to escape. A baptism of fire, one might say.
That's the only church conversion I'd consider going and looking at. Very well done.
And that’s what makes angry. These restrictions were created to preserve these buildings but they have the opposite effect. Who would want to sink a lot money to live in a fridge in winter. I understand some rules are needed but for me as long as the church looks almost identical from outside then I am ok. How many houses are left derelict because of these rules…
Interesting house in the UK. Well some of the artwork, the Uk room which has a Golliwog do the 3D tour it's in the UK room, etc.
do the
So much RED!
But, the bones of a lovely house there. With a bit of redecoration.
Love the old singer sewing machine. My father had one of those.
Grand house. All the union jacks make it chav-tastic.
A few tins of paint and it's a house similar to what the majority of us a living in.
Austin powers living room.
I wonder how they voted in the Brexit referendum.?
And what on earth is that painting on the left in picture 8?
Is there a link for a 3D tour? I couldn't see one.
I think the house has been edited since last night.
I think is probably a good deal, a 2 bed 2 bath house for €240k with an 'outbuilding with further rooms'. The outbuilding appears to be another small house with 2 beds, kitchen and living area which I am assuming could be rented out or used as a 'granny flat' or whatever we call it now when your grown up child can't afford a home but doesn't want to live at home.

This house in Mohill in Leitrim is beautiful even if a bit flowery in places :)
I was not expecting that. The interior is much nicer than the exterior.
They seem to be a fan of Irish gin bottles refashioned into soap dispensers!
€700k is a lot for deepest, darkest Leitrim!
Nice house but €700k for Leitrim?
I thought it was a bit steep myself even for such a beautiful house on a lakeside. I've just gone down a rabbit hole looking at the website of the Lough Rynn Hotel nearby - beautiful setting.
I was trying to view the house on Street View but saw tis it's certainly te wild west.
There is a private estate of houses right beside the hotel. About 10 or 12 if I recall.
I nearly bought one in 2015. Real nice places and they were only about €140,000.
I looked at one in 2021 - they were up around 200k for a 4 bed detached, but the fact that it was a "managed" development put me off. They were absolutely gorgeous though, and you couldn't want for a nicer surrounding.
That...... is a fantastic find. I love it.
