Following on from main thread in Current Affairs about Tubs in general (now closed and mod suggestion that Entertainment category is more suitable).
Indeed, entertainment in certain respects is what Tubs has provided, albeit perhaps in a way not intended. And still awaiting 150k payback to the licence fee holder.
And of course, his new career in Virgin Radio which is imminent.

Any taxes or deductions made to that money will have taken place within Tubridy's own company, not RTÉ, so RTÉ paid his company 150k, thats what they should be getting back.
Any issues with Revenue are between Tubridy and Revenue.
You can't buy class.
Suggesting the 150K and the structure of how Ryan was to be paid it is due to a failing on RTE's part is quite disingenious. It was clearly arranged between RTE, the world's greatest agent NK, and possibly Ryan himself to allow the facade of a pay cut in public.
@Gregor Samsa
Is this the work of an out-of-his-league chocolate salesman?
I always disliked this, as soon as it was said. Particularly considering how out of her depth Dee Forbes had been, though she had all the experience and qualifications required, and she couldn't even take the time to turn up to the Oireachtas.
Along with the fact that it came from a Politician, if your a party hack your qualifications and experience mean little, and sure if you had a falling out with those up there in Party HQ in Dublin all the better for your career as an independent politician.
I think overall this is a case of people waiting/wanting RT to fail because of their dislike of him. I think you just have to wait or see how it works out. We can have an opinion one way or another, and we won't know for at least another year.
We also have little knowledge of RT's actual pay packet.
At the end of the day if you have a hard neck ... experience means little.
Yeah but he said he’d pay back the €150,000.
Music is picked by the producers, Q102 is really 1990/1980 pop music station, this is why they choose that station over FM104.
Was it your PR man Ray Gordon who came out with the statement which eventually caused Kevin not to renew the contract?
There is no doubt and never has that nk is an amazing turd polisher
Tubbs is back on Radio 1! Well just in the form of an ad for a column he has with the email On Sunday apparently telling us all about his exciting life these days. I’m not expecting Mail On Sunday sales to soar.
And has fanboys on the internet shaping the narrative surrounding his investments. No stone unturned.
I mistakenly thought they were fans of Tubridy, people who I dont think I've met in real life, but they are just a fan of NK Talent Management
Ray was involved, sure, but the statement wasn’t “crafted” by him, alone.
Just check to see who thanked your post. What time do you and the rest of the NK tag time clock off the thread.
and they are all on this thread too 🤣
Some people can't accept failure, which is why they brigade threads like this.
I believe and I'm sure our nk colleagues here will agree, it was nk's exquisite management that got that 150k for tubs and tubs Just saw the paypacket and was oblivious to what went on, like some of the chaps at the nuremburg trials
where's the failure. He's very wealthy, has an excellent income, well liked by decent people. There are a type of sad group that dislike him and rather that switch to another channel they almost ingratiate themselves into him to feed their need to spout hatred.
A bit like the uneducated types that are so gullible that they believe anything far right agitators say about refugees.
His supporters are certainly not "decent" people, they are the types of people who benefit from the same type of nepotism in Irish society.
Personally I find this thread to be very positive in its negativity, there's a certain genuine feel to it apart from the fake praise that is
I don't listen at all I just enjoy the thread
The substantial pay cut he was forced to take with Virgin just further exposes the "peculiar" nature of the Renault deal. €25k per appearance for Renault was fair market value for his time in his eyes, but then he goes on to accept a 75k per annum role for substantially more work and inconvenience with Virgin. I appreciate his reputation has been tarnished beyond repair in the meantime but it highlights the fact this Renault deal never appeared to be on the level in the first place.
How can you endure it?
So it was a far right plot that scuppered Toyman!
At least when he gets bored of talking about books he can gush over the royals as Irelands self appointed Buckingham palace stalker. Didn't an Irish lad find his way into the queens bedroom a few decades ago? Toyman could do a reprise of that caper!
Ah now, ye don't mind giving out a bit of negativity yourself.
Perhaps "they" might also have to have a word with Mario Rosenstock and crew. The Gift Grub sketch (already mentioned here) is saying pretty much the same as we are. Most of the comments here are fair IMHO.

Given that the Sindo/Indo were singing his praises for months, it is odd that they never offered Tubridy a column. The Irish Mail is a compartively small player in the market.

Christ almighty
It's meaningless to those who come by it via public funding. At least toyman is in a commercial station now, even if he might be paying for his seat there.
I am not saying it is a huge sum of money in the grand scheme of things, in fact I think I would regard it as cheap if it results in change at RTE.
That's weird thing to say.
Where's your "be kind" sign off gone?
Also why did you change your name on boards?
He gets 2 pound fifty pence for every post
And obviously needs 68000 posts per annum to make his 170k
