Round here ......
Are we under attack???!?!??!?!?
The entire Irish Air Force are in the sky!!!!
Diverted due to a passenger passing away.
FR1183 (RYR1183) LGW-SNN gone around at Shannon due to the touchdown zone RVR (Runway Visual Range) falling below 300m on approach. Currently 275m touchdown zone, 300m midpoint and 350m stopend.
Pah! I presume you all heard that out of Shannon then?
I was 10kms away at the closest point from it (I'm not in Dub Laoghaire as indicated) and it's now over Howth and I can still hear it. 😂
I would have expected them to continue to destination tbh.
The deceased was occupying a WC cubicle and unable to function as self-loading-freight once the seat-belt signs came on. You propose leaving him in-situ and carry on regardless. Alright.
The flight was to Manchester. I expect that it would have been an additional 30-40 minutes.
Perhaps when the decision to divert was made the belief was that there was still time to save the passenger.
Exactly. Definitive and official determination of the person's status wouldn't have been possible until they were medically examined etc., even if the situation seemed clear to those on board. It's always worth considering what you would want to happen if it was one of your own close family.
"self loading freight" ...... how caring. 😏
(i know you are probably quoting some pilot-speak manual )
I think that it would be much easier for family to make arrangements to transport the body if it landed in the home country. But, as AnRothar said, the diversion decision may have been made before the passenger died.
One for the plane spotters!
Here she is, CA001 B748:
might head out to the Alsaa to see this come in. Would that be a good spot to see it?
Why would the American Air force be doing this?
It’s due to land on runway 28L so you should just be under the flight path.
I plan to park by Applegreen on the Swords rd and walk up from there.
I just seen footage of the mound opposite the runway and it’s chaos there already with cars double parked etc!
No. 1 tracked flight in the world at the moment. https://www.flightradar24.com/CCA001/33a49790
No more than a mild FlightRadar fan but was curious to look out for this chinese 747-8 .Im confused to see a 'convoy' trioof Cessna 172/182 travelling from Waterford towards Cork in pitch darkness at 650pm .Meanwhile a USAF Super Galaxy has taken off from the south east of England ,flown North West towards Scotland and then tracked west before heading along our west coast .Meanwhile the Beluga seems to be flying from Spain to Chester (on finals ?) Surely this is all very unusual ...
The beluga.
The Chinese president's plane.
Airbus UK own and run CEG, there's a factory there that builds the wings for the airbus series a/c. The Beluga usually drops off parts and picks up wings for assembly in the other plants around the world.
It's a KC35 refueling tanker performing air-to-air refueling for various aircraft which are on patrol and training. You'll see them over most NATO states at one time or another.

It's not as complicated as it may seem.
The Cesna's may be either Instrument flying or Visual flying.
If it's Instrument, as the name suggests, they are using either on-board or ground based equipment to navigate along.
If it's visual flying then they are looking outside for reference points to navigate by. This is permitted too.
I didn't think night time VFR was permitted in Ireland? Although it's been quite a while since I did any flying!
Edit: seems VFR at night is permitted!
When is that taking off from Dublin I wanna track it
Estimated Departure based on Flightradar is between 2 and 2.30 today.
She's preparing to move now:
Not gonna be a fun day to be flying!
EI3281 BRS-DUB appears to be diverting, no attempt made at approach. I see a Ryanair diverted from Knock to Dublin earlier too.
EI3391 LBA-DUB also earlier diverted to Belfast City, seems to be out of limits for the stobarts already.
Wind direction later look fairly poor for Dublin and Knock airports. Some disruption likely I'd say.

Anyone remember this thread?
Great night was had, are we due another?
