Fine Gael have to keep their property developers mates happy. That's their number one priority.
FYI people want to rent houses
The majority of houses build are bought by people in Ireland. Small LL are getting out of the market because of the changes in law towards the tenant making it too risky
Who do you want to buy houses for the rental market?
There is quite simply no hope for those who want to climb onto the property ladder. And this excuse of a government are showing their true colours by permitting this purchase by vulture funds. They have no interest in looking after the people who elected them.
All three parties I hope are booted out of power in the next election.
I see this morning The Journal removed the page above on the housing purchases. This really reeks of dictatorship, not democracy ( FOI ). Be very interesting to see if any of the discussion programmes on RTE discuss this today.
Anyhow, in case anyone is interested, the following link is also about this housing estate:

Wow. The journal tool down the article. That is mad. Why was that? Political interference?
Heard nothing on then radio today about this.
Msn link on story also gone.
Jesus people actually suggesting political interference or some kind of conspiracy when its far more likely a legal issue or also possibly just bad reporting.
While the government have responsibility here so do the banks as they are refusing to lend to developers who are only left with the option to fund their projects by selling off plans to large investment institutions.
Id reckon around 95% of apartment complexes being built in south dublin right now are solely build to rent and have been sold off plans to institutions due to the banks refusing to lend.
Why would the government get involved in pulling an article on houses getting sold
I think they might have bigger and worse stories to pull if that was the case
True .
Did anyone hear Minister McEntee on Radio 1 this morning? It is absolutely incredible that she is allowed to just answer questions that haven't been asked. She actually has already decided what she is going to say and just trots out the same few lines in a sequence no matter that question is asked. The interviewer didn't know how to handle it because it was utterly pointless. No matter what the question was in relation to immigration, McEntee had already decided what she was going to say. In fact I am pretty sure she didn't listen to any of the questions.
More likely the story was untrue.
They had the wrong information and it was pulled.
Of course loads of "da guberment pulled it down". Hilarious stuff
A good news story, doesn't seem to get the same reaction to a bad news one
Naughty Leo Again, Spend Spend Spend

He said: "The Learjet is still in use but mainly for air ambulance, it’s unfortunately no longer reliable so can only be used on a very limited basis and for the past number of months, maybe the past year, we’ve been using private hire and that’s been necessary."
And he added that the Learjet simply did not have the range to reach the Balkans without refuelling.
From the article. Of course the Mirror expects most people don't read past the headline and first paragraph before the outrage starts.
But also
Sources have confirmed to The Irish Mirror that the Government jet – a Learjet 45 which has been in service since 2004 – was flying training and other operations this week, but government officials decided to hire the 2020 built Falcon instead for the Taoiseach’s two day visit to Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro.
The Falcon, which was hired from an international private jet business, is larger and wider than the Learjet 45, which is operated by Air Corps personnel.

Our government is on track to spend in excess of €2.25bn this year on housing (and thats just housing, not even all the others associated costs) non Irish citizens. Thats an absolutely astronomical number.
Wheres the poster saying we can't afford to spend €400mn to massively increase the pay of every junior garda/nurse/teacher in the country because "we can't afford to spend that kind of money on unneccessary things" I wonder.
its absolutely the most fucked up country right now.
This shoddy government is so screwed in the upcoming elections. They cannot do anything right.
Jesus Christ those revenues and profits are insane.
More these developments are needed. I still don't understand why cost rental isn't been done more. Long term stable tenancies, state breaks even and retains the asset.
I think you should have a look around because that is certainly not anywhere close to correct
I have seen a distinct pattern with FF and FG TDs in recent weeks when it comes to the immigration crisis. They are very very intent on using Roderic O'Gorman's name repeatedly. Over and over they call out his full name and say they expect the minister to do this, that and the other. It actually quite cowardly that they are using this scapegoat ploy to try and hang the immigration entirely on the Greens. Over and over they push the entire responsibility to one man. Why hasn't he been replaced by a senior FFG TD? O'Gorman wont even be a TD in approx 12 months time. Why are the experienced FG TDs cowardly hiding from one of the biggest issues in the country? I get the distinct impression that O'Gorman is getting no help in cabinet and especially from that inept minister for Housing O'Brien and of course McEntee.
Where are they hiding? Simon Coveney, Simon Harris, Richard Bruton, Heather Humphreys, Paschal Donohue don't seem overly busy. Get one of them in....senior hurlers.
how about this
the most fucked up country right now with cherries on top. better?
I always say people should travel, gives them a better view of what is going on in the World.
I have plenty. all that’s gold does not glitter. You have your viewpoint I have mine. Let’s leave it there.
Oh for sure Roddy is the scapegoat for the mess but all are the blame imho, his tweets inviting all to Ireland must have been ok'd by FF and FG as well as GP
MM and LV are just looking at landing big Europe jobs, they do not care about Ireland
What big jobs in Europe are they getting?
Well both are linked with president role

Then why was it raised in DÉ today?
By Mary Lou who has no problem with blocking homes getting built.
🤣🤣🤣
Did she read out a Dear Deirdre letter as well 🤦♂️
